on the face of it we are going to head into the play offs in quite "already on the beach end of season" form

Really don't think we should read too much from today's game, it was pretty much a dead rubber for both sides.

One point out of a possible six against the bottom club.
The ordinary season is fizzling out, let us hope that we can regroup and have something spare left in the tank for the play offs.

How long before Blackburns finest are on here? I'll give it less than 20 mins.

That was woeful. They just didn’t seem to have any urgency in them at all. Such a shame after a really good opening goal.

I'm sure this is just a plan to lull the other play off teams into a false sense of security. It better had be anyway, 1 win in 6 and for the most part it's been pretty average stuff.

well two back to back dismal performances from town , we started by looking rather tentative , a wonderful solo goal by Eisa and i thought right lets up our game and put this away, instead we looked ponderous ,lacklustre and too often clueless going forward, i appreciate the pitch was very bobbley but too many players first touch and distribution in the last third was poor. Morris was good with most of his corners some free headers went off target, going forward Eisa and lowe created the most problems, unusually Rodman hardly got out of first gear.
we did not press them enough and bury looked rather pedestrian, in the second half the bury keeper only had one save to make, we concede a very sloppy goal as towns defence switched off, Henderson was rightly lambasting them.
we did not look like a team pressing for promotion, i dont know if some players are tired or mentally drained or have decided to go through the motions till the plays offs. if it is the the play offs then it is about confidence and momentum , we have seen town give 120% for most games but they have not done that for the last two games i hope we get back our intensity and momentum

I’m hoping the last two games are a blip, but am getting a bit worried now.
Not only do the players seem not at the races Hurst seems to have lost the plot tactically. Playing 5 defenders and two defensive midfielders against the side relegated and bottom of the league was really disappointing, as was the lack of change in tactics and players in the second half. At times Bury had 75% possession against us which is embarrassing
Admittedly with Payne, Whalley and Nolan injures/rested our attacking options were limited but attacking wise we are dire at the moment. Carlton Morris looks knackered and really needed someone alongside him.
Horrible feeling we’re watching a side and manager that’s already decided we’re not getting promoted and are planning fresh challenges next season. Going to give the remaining league games a miss as just depressing watching us at the moment

Surely that was an expirement?? Trying to play a different way? We sat back ALL game long and had absolutely no idea what to do with the ball when we did have it.
Nolan and Whalley were rested and I’m sure that makes a difference but that was absolutely pathetic.
Go for it at 1 0 and we probably would have a confidence boosting win now. Mental. s**te.

after going one up this game was there for the taking we should have been camped in burys half and finished the game off by half time instead we got a very lethargic performance, too many players going through the motions . i have no issue with hurst trying new formations we need a plan b and even a plan c but unusually town looked like they did not know what they were doing. let us hope it is a temporary blip

I’ve no problem with players getting a rest, so surprised we started again with Carlton up top. The guy covers more yards than anyone but looked spent after 65 mins yet no LJL...What’s the guy got to do to get more than 5 minutes on the pitch? 1 goal in 270 minutes of football, The shop must be thinking what the hell have I got to do to get a game of footy?

Subs happened too late again imo I couldn’t agree more. Second game in a week where an opposition goal looked inevitable and was scored whilst the chosen sub was getting ready. On a more positive note, 2 defeats in our last 10 league games suggests we are still fairly hard to beat. Trying to turn my negative mood around!

If I was in charge of training next week, I would arrange a full scale practice match and fine any player who needlessly passed ack to the keeper and give a tidy sum to charity. The aim of the game is to score at the opponents end and you don't often achieve that by fiddling the ball in and around your own penalty area. I accept that the players have had a hard, tiring season, but that second half display came close to sending me to sleep.

To be honest we were poor all game. Bury were s**te and we should win these games. We are going to have to improve dramatically to stand any chance in the play offs. We do miss agogo and Bryn Morris tries his best but he is just not good enough. I would be looking at other options for the play offs.

Good first half. Rested on our laurels second half and got punished for it. It wasn't 100%, never got out of third gear and looked like we'd settled for the play-offs rather than making Blackburn work for the points they need.
That said, Abo Eisa had a great first half and looked a handful at this level. He will only get better. It's good tactical thinking by PH, as managers in the play-offs will be thinking "Who's he going to play?" It was great to see him attacking defenders with a no-nonsense approach and he could well be our secret weapon if needed.
But it was two points lost, and again, Eisa aside, there was a lack of positivity in the final third which will be our downfall if PH doesn't sort it out.
