not being picky at all,but I've watched whalley a few times now,and to be honest if he's playing a winger he should be beating his man on the outside then crossing the ball in to the striker(s).I just don't see it from him at the moment.I really do think we need another winger asap, but it's only my feeling at the moment Personally, I think Whalley has been a superb for us this season and has scored several crucial late goals. I would not be looking to replace him.

some people are just never happy our best season for almost 3 decades and we still moan I don't see it as people moaning, rather just being pragmatic about the situation. PH has stated himself that he is looking to strengthen further. Perhaps you could pop him an email and tell him not to bother seeing as it's been such a good season already.

going one on one is clearly something payne needs to work on in the training ground as he has had a number of similar chances and fluffed most of them, however i dont know if it the pressure or lack of confidence but his goals have virtually dried up. whilst lewis has had less playing time he looks a bit limited, Morris seems to create more problems for defenses but he is not exactly a goal machine. personally i think we need more forward options and another winger who can take corners and free kicks

In the end it doesn't really matter what PH or others think we need, if such players are not available then we just have to accept the situation and get on with it. PH knows what is needed and he will sort it if possible.

Let’s dream a little and finish what we started.

We need more player choices in attack but we don't need to change the way we play. We're second because the whole team defends so well and we've had enough in attack to score vital goals regularly. If we change our system trying to score more goals, we'll have to sacrifice some of that defensive solidity. Since that's been the foundation of our success, that wouldn't seem to be a clever move - that would be more of a wasted opportunity than continuing with the system that's bringing us our best season in years. We play 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 or, I gather, 3 at the back last night (with hindsight I wish we'd done that at Blackburn). All of those suit us - I don't believe 4-4-2 does. I'd like to see a couple of attacking players brought in to give us more options. I don't want to see us sacrifice Ogogo or Godfrey so that we can play a second striker. I remember reading this a couple of days ago and it has got me thinking. Most will appreciate the midfield three of Ogogo, Nolan and Godfrey has played a massive role in our defensive solidity and helping us concede so few goals. However with only one striker we are not creating and converting a huge numbers of chances. I wonder if PH is considering moving towards the back three more regularly, and the West Ham game was a trial. This would allow us to keep all of Ogogo, Godfrey and Nolan (in a more forward position) and also a another attack minder player closer to the striker, or even two strikers and Nolan behind them. It may also explain why we are getting linked with more defenders if we are going to play 3 at the back and wing backs. I think that this would be a decent side that maintains our midfield strength, but also offers more in attack. Henderson Toto Sadler Beckles Whalley Ogogo Godfrey Lowe Nolan Payne Morris

It seems that PH is focussing on bringing in attacking full backs and creative wide players to create more opportunities for our current strike force. Although Payne has had a couple of high profile misses of late, I don't really believe that our strikers are missing loads of chances - they just aren't getting as many as earlier in the season. So I'm ok with Hurst's recruitment policy although I think it would be good if we added a Tyler Roberts type option to the squad if one became available.

No goals in the last 3 games is a big concern. Even our goal scoring midfield are struggling. Morris up front is not working for me. I agree with resting players on Saturday and give the likes of Jones and Eisa more game time to get used to the pace of league 1 games. Should we try 3 at the back and have a more attacking option? Paul Hurst is certainly going to earn his money now to get a team ready for the play offs.
