Worrying scenes. Trump about as useful as expected in response. Driver of the car being charged with murder, but not terror offences.
Seems like a really toxic atmosphere in the states at the moment. Almost all of my American friends want to leave the country. When things are so bitter and divided it's hard to see how the wounds will heal.

It's really strange but there are large parts of the States where Trump is hugely popular. Hardly anywhere outside of the USA can understand how he won. By the same token, there are large parts of the UK who voted for Brexit but outside of the UK there is hardly any place which can understand how we voted to leave.

Trump's equivocal "many sides" condemnation of what's happening in Charlottesville has been attacked by senior Republicans and welcomed by the Ku Klux Klan and neo-nazis.
That tells us all we need to know. He is tolerant of white supremacists and their terrorist acts.
He doesn't seem to know whether he's starting World War III or Civil War II. As someone said on Twitter, threatening nuclear war isn't even the worst thing he's done this week!
Scarcely believable but horribly true.

And there's many parts of the UK that can. If you want to make a large donations to the EU out of your own pocket after we leave, there's nothing to stop you.

It's bonkers and so is Trump.
It's all very well telling both sides to stop the violence, but one side is fully tooled up and if not, dress like riot police. But, you wouldn't expect Trump to condemn the Neo-Fascist, KKK and nationalist militias seeing as they'll vote for him. It's Trumps nationalistic anti-immigrant rhetoric that's enabled these groups to behave like this. He needs to own it.
The media need to stop calling these groups part of the 'Alt-right' movement. These aren't internet gob es.
These groups probably feel they are reclaiming their heritage by protesting against the removal of the General Lee statue. That's a heritage that subjugated a whole group of people to slavery based on their colour. Something to be proud of right there....
Bonkers.

Riots will be on our doorstep soon enough JT. Your chum Farage has gone on record this week saying there will be blood running in the streets if/when we ditch the whole Brexit thing. I just hope that the only blood spilled belongs to that lying toe rag.

I must confess I've found myself in bed with some very strange bedfellows during the successful democratic campaign to leave this ridiculous "one size fits all do as you're told" union.
I don't mind snuggling up to Gisela Stuart, Kate Hoey, Kelvin Hopkins and Frank Field. And if I'm on the same side as George Galloway and Nigel Farage. so be it.
You, on the other hand, will be doffing your Dutch cap to posh boys, David Cameron, Gideon Osborne, don't turn your back on him Heseltine and the Blair creature.
All of a sudden, Farage doesn't seem that bad........

Gisela Stuart has now changed sides along with a number of Tory MPs. The former political editor of the Daily Mail, who was also secretary to the clown David Davies has now admitted that the Brexit campaign was built entirely on lies peddled by your bedfellow Farage, Fox, Davies, Johnson and the idiot who represents North Shropshire. That gentleman has now left the Tory right wing press and is fighting hard for a second referendum, which is almost inevitable when Parliament get to vote on the final conditions. He has also suggested that the splits in the Tory party will be so wide that they will not win another election for a generation - some good news at least.

You forgot to mention 2 high profile advocates of Brexit who had their say during the campaign. Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

There was a who could tell the biggest fib competition by both sides.
Any road up, I'm just off to study the 2 holidays I wouldn't be able to afford if we voted to leave the EU. We're returning to the same hotel as last year. £30.00 per person cheaper this year after brexit.
You little fibber, Dave!

Is it time the mods took action and removed this thuggish, Hard Left rhetoric?

Very sensible not to go to Europe, where the sun is. Long delays at Passport control on both sides of the Channel and for the first time a euro is almost the same value as the pound. I have had many enjoyable sun soaked holidays at places all around England and Wales, and just as many getting soaked to the skin in wet, cold conditions. For that reason I prefer to venture further afield to places that I just need to pack summer clothes. Each to his own I guess.

Farage is the one inciting violence, which to me means that he deserves to be the one on the receiving end.

Were they to do so, then in the interests of fairness and equality you and your fellow Hitler Youth contributors would also be lost to the board; which would be a pity as you are a valued and longstanding contributor.

How's that come about owd lad? Have they cut prices because nobody is going? Exchange rates aren't exactly in favour of leaving Britain, my time abroad cost me about 15% more than it would have a year earlier.

But posh Dave said you wouldn't be able to afford to go at all.
The left wing Huffingham Post did a good article.

Not part of the Schengen agreement so we have always been able to check who's coming in.
