These were 2 of the worst players during the game I thought, but it was because of them that we are now in the football league. How can howie look so unstable between the posts for 120 minutes and then save 3 consecutive shots from 3 yeards out?

Didn't really think Howie did anything wrong today.
Tolley was our worst player IMO, he seemed frozen for the 80 minutes of play. However he came into the game more as extra time started. Good penalty thoug!

On Sky tonight JQ said Scott Howie looked at the video of A'shot v Hereford on the peno situation , and watched it time and time again , maybe that was the difference between how full time and part time think

Most committed player was O'Connor IMO. Rodgers ran himself into the ground but was obviously having problems with his hamstring. Tinno was crippled early on by D'Sane (I think), how he carried on through the 90 mins was heroic. Thought Challis had an excellent game. Howie is a God now

There's a number of players that are continuing to play with knocks. Difficult to make fair judgements on that basis.
I think we have played noticeably better in the play-offs overall and the signing of Trevor Challis ws important in turning that situation.
Darby was better today than the second leg against Barnet - he put himself about a lot more. He's not very good in the air.
Maybe we should try to get Ewan Roberts next season - he is a target man. Former resident of Broseley BTW.

nobody stood out in a very average game.
the lucky thing with keepers is that the penalty taker is always expected to score, so the keeper can never be blamed for letting them in, but only praised for saving them. at the end of the day - who cares, we're goin up!

Darren Tinson was right about the fickleness. No he wasn't. All season fans have shown a refreshing determination not to be told that the evidence of their own eyes is deceivng him.

I thought Howie was solid all game and dealt largely with a barrage of long throw ins very well. And then there's the 3 penalty saves

I have critisised just about everyone in the team this year, but today I couldnt give a flyer. No matter who played well and who didnt, collectively they all won it for us. Challis and Howie are quite rightly the heros of the moment, but remember it was all 11 players who kept us in the game for the 120 minutes. DD may not have done much for large parts of the game, but by jesus, im glad he did the one thing he did do. GGGGOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLL

The real problem Howie has is he doesn't come off his line and so makes defenders deal with a ball facing their own goal under pressure. There's the punching thing as well obviously.

Think that Lowe had the poorest game i've ever seen him play today. Can only put this down to it being the biggest game he's ever played in.
Darby was my man of the match until he was taken off and I said to the person sitting next to me "Darby is man of the match unless someone steps up and does something brilliant"
Then Howie delivers!!!!!!!

i thought that it was a scrapy game in which we defended well.....credit to all the defence which includes o'connor and tolley .........sedge gave us a few scarey moments but i think that they have been the influential factor all season because we arenot good enough going forward as our goal ratio to hereford and chester shows BRING ON THE THIRD DIVISION!

Lowey stunk the place out, but how can anyone criticise Howie? He was steady throughout, under a lot of pressure. Man of the match - tough to choose, Streety was awesome when he came on, but I'll give it to O'Connor

Man of the Match - Martin O' Connor
He was winning all the lose balls in the middle of the field, defended well by breaking up Shots attacks.
I was really worried when he went off but it seemed Tolley then grew in stature and confidence.

Apart from the goal, darby was sh!te! Can't believe what i am reading !! With DD everyone knows what you are going to get = 100 % effort, hassling defenders. At the end of the day he did exactly what was asked of him and was only replaced with penalties in mind.

Players who had poor games?
Sedge for me, we need proper cover at right back. Sedge very rarely wins anything in the air, and easily gets bypassed.
As for Tolley, thought as soon as O'Connor (who I thought was brilliant) went off, our play seemed to go through Tolley more and more, he was helping out in defense to get his head to crosses, and leading our counter attack, he also hussled about.
Rodgers was clearly having problems with his hamstring/thigh whatever.
darby won more in the air, closed down quickly, put his foot in, but didnt do much else other than score. Having said that strikers are paid to score. He scored, thus he did his job.
Thought Challis had a good battling game. What a signing he's proved to be...
As for Howie, well the only time he fumbled anything, the ref awared us a free kick for a foul on him. He won most of the balkl in the air, played well, the only criticim that can be labbled his way are his unwillingness to race off his line. But hey who cares, he's a quality keeper, who is underappreciated by STFC supporters.

I thought Howie was very good all through the game, had no chahnce for their goal.

Even though Darby didn't have a great deal of chances, he gets stuck in, which surely encorages the other players & lifts the crowd...he did one crunching tackle in front of Block 31 that had me wincing...

O'connor was a real calm head ran out of Gas and then Streety was excellent bodes well for next season Lowe struggled all game - Howie was solid in my book as for the second penalty save - awesome. it was all about the result.
