Thanks for that, you must be gutted. Even amidst all the euphoria at the end, I really felt for your fans and players. Keep plugging away next season, and you will be in with a good chance. I will certainly be keeping an eye on your progress. Good luck.

Your club deserves a lot of praise not just for getting to the play-off final and performing so well, but also for the tremendous support you gave the players today.
Good luck next season.

I know if we would have lost I wouldn't have gone on the aldershot board saying well done, I'd either still be sitting in the bath tub in the dark or gone on and made excuses and I'm glad there isn't too many people like this coming on. cheers mate.

As I said the other day we will just enjoy the day, just got back from the pub and we are enjoying ourselves .ytday was far mor important to shrewsbury than Aldershot two things though as far as numbers of fans went we prooved Quality is better that quantity ( a pop at the few of you who had a go at the numbers we were bringing )
And I am a great believer in penalties deceiding these things but and could a few of you give an honest answer here ....this year all 3 play off games went to pens ,could there be another way to finish games ,penalties are great for the one off ,but these are no longer one offs

I used to quite like the old ??American style pens, where they start from the half way line and the keeper can come out. Still a terrible way to loose though.

As far as Shrewsburys concerned, I've never been on the losing end of penalties and as soon as I do, this is something I may be against.

There is no other feasible way of settling a game like penalties in my honest opinion. Of course it's cruel and harsh on the losers but I don't think there is any better solution.
Fair play to the Aldershot fans who have posted congratulations messages and to the hoards that stayed and clapped Salop at the end. It's easy to be gracious in victory but much harder to be gracious in defeat.
Good luck next season.

Did you read the suggestions in the programme as alternatives to play offs? Some interesting views IMO

To be honest, they could still be playing now and it would still be 1-1.
Penalties are good for people who need to go to work the day after.

Yes congratulations on your win today and the best of luck for the future. It was a good game albeit tense and for the last 20 mins the fitness told, we were knackered. We were really unfortunate to have had apalling luck with injuries today and lost all the pace when D'sane and McClean went off. Penalties is always hard for the runners up (we weren't losers today) but you took your chance in the same way we did against Hereford. It was an emotional day and my tears(more than once) were actually shed BEFORE kick -off as it finally hit home what a fantastic achievemement it was to even be there in our first season. For me the summer brings several (hopefully 6) trips to Portugal to see England bring home the European Championship Trophy so my football season hasn't ended just yet, but it might hit home in the morning. Good Luck in DIV3 and hope to see you soon ;D

Yes pens are a tough way to lose but it has to be sorted out one way or the other. Don't think we are unhappy about it because we aren't. Those are the rules, extra time then pens, you scored we didn't, good luck to you, we had our chances. We are still happy Shots fans, we had a great day!!

This sums you up: You miss another penalty (Howie saves) and instead of crying, going silent you just start up another chant again... Absolutely awesome.
