If that is WES as in Westley, then we might as well of kept Mellon.

Jim Bentley at Morecambe. Smallest budget in the football league, working on a reduced budget every year and still manages to keep them up. He has served his apprenticeship now he deserves a crack with a club further up.

BBC Sport tweeted Ian Holloway and Grimsby's Paul Hurst among early contenders.
Sky Sports News have been promoting their EFL "10 games in 10 days" in December this morning. Ian Holloway did all of them as a road trip for sky last year in a converted coach. Hope he hasn't signed a contract to do the same this year!!

Stevev Evans is controversial but has he ever done a poor job? I guess that depends on how you view corruption. It's not just that though. His behaviour leaves much to be desired as well. The only manager to be banned from his own club for exposing himself I believe. Absolutely no thanks from me under any circumstances.

Radio Shropshire reporting Paul Hurst of Grimsby is another name being linked He's got Davies, Disley, McAllister, Summerfield and Vernon up there already, so they should be able to fill him in with any info on STFC he requires.

Look, stop putting meaningless lists of potentials on here without their birth place, date and time. How the hell could any sane chairman possibly choose without that vital information.

I don't think Hurst would be a bad shout as an outside bet. Young and up and coming, and his side outplayed us in the FA Cup game even if we did win the tie with a late goal in the end. He got them promoted last season +worked well on a small budget.l

I'd like to see Karl Robinson come here from MK Dons. Always seems to have a good attitude and has local connections with Oswestry.

Ex-Wolves midfielder Alex Rae? Former St Mirren manager, sacked last month...I think Brian Caldwell was still at St Mirren when he was appointed in Dec 2015?
Previously assistant manager at KRC Genk (under Alex McLeish) and has managed Dundee and St Mirren

Nigel Adkins not getting much of a mention. Lots of experience and a nice chap. I suppose we have to bear in mind where candidates are based as to whether they may be interested in the job. Adkins is up North I think and Jackett down south. I don't think being away from home so much really worked for MM. He is a big family man and living in a caravan didn't really agree with him. It would be good to get someone Midlands based or willing to move

looking at list of managers online, and you see names that have at some point been a manager recently.
For example Colin Calderwood who did well at Northampton a few years back but has been a number 2 for the last couple of seasons, but may be tempted to be a manager again.
Gary Waddock who did fairly well with Aldershot and Wycombe
Strange with the assistant manager vacancy, as i guess someone cannot apply for that role as it will depend on who the manager wants in that role.

What about Peter Taylor? I know the guy is in new Zealand but at least he believes in the Youth system.

Just hope that whoever is appointed that even if it is a choice many of us don't like that they are given a fair chance to prove themself with Shrewsbury.

Gary Hackett - October 11. Libra. It even mentions the word goals. Ideal candidate. October 11 Zodiac Being a Libra born on October 11th, your personality is defined by your thoughtfulness and seriousness. While you do have a notable sense of humor, you take you do not take life lightly and are driven to accomplish your goals. Although motivated, you are far from selfish and will take any chance to help out a fellow human being. Your friends and family often marvel at your ability to let the needs of others outweigh your own. You would be surprised to find that many consider you to be the perfect friend.

For Mellon to join Tranmere he would have at least been offered a similar salary as he had at Shrewsbury. Adkins has been with Clubs challenging for promotion to the Premier League nobody gets a chance at Sheffield United. Jackett only left Wolves due to change of ownership, both have progressed to Clubs with attendances & fan bases multiple times as big. They will both be on the lists of teams like Villa & Derby. We will get what we always get an unknown, un-confrontational, uninspiring and above all cheap. Look out for Conference level, League of Wales (RW's been spending time watching it) or an unknown retired player.
