I see TheRiverside has cleaned up with a 100K+ win despite having exactly 65 p at the start of last week. Doesn't seem fair to me.........

Would have been £300k if Bristol City had held on at Hartlepool I didn't make the rules mate...........and only got to 65p because of my love of the Town and blind faith in backing them most weeks surely thats worth something

Nah, fair play to you Terence.
But would you have made that bet with just a £1k free bet?
Just think that the last special sucked big time to be honest and kind of defeated the object of a season long competition (over 200K paid out!!!!!!!!!)

That's why I gave up predicting a few months ago...coupled with the fact that I lost every single bet I ever made!

Wouldn't have made it with 65p in the bank thats for sure It's a bet I like doing but the usual rules on number of bets allowed per week don't allow the 4 bets to be made...................

I have every sympathy for you Gareth I have to say. Altho' I appreciate it is done to keep the interest going for everyone, I believe those that have been consistent throughout the year should gain the ultimate accolade. I think the last couple of weeks have turned it into a farce.
Sorry Pilch lad, I'm not trying to knock you. It has been a stirling effort from you doing this as with all the other competitions done and hats off to the people concerned in doing them.
But only the Fantasy League and Prediction League can really be taken seriously as their rules have remained constant throughout. Just something for the others to think about for next year.

Looking through the bets looks like
1. The Riverside 2. Welshshrew 3. Soupie
Still think the last 2 weeks ruined what had been a very good competition

don't forget gareth that the generous pre season special put you streets ahead of most, you even had to ask me where your money had come from terry won with just £1000 and take away the last few specials well over 20 players had a grand anyway when working out the results its noticable that more and more drop out when they have what seems no chance of winning, its hard to think up a plan to keep them involved anyway, the betting league last week made a new star signing ratcliffes ghost will be on hand to help run it next season, along with norge and anyone who wishes to help or have input from the input so far, it will be a much tighter comp as far as the bookie is concerned

Come on PILCH lad, my special was from the £2K (was it?) we all had at the start of the season for bets. I placed it on Barnet at 7-1 and won 8K. I then won the rest of my money through carefully placed bets over the last 4 months. Giving people tens of thousands of pounds in the penultimate week just doesn't seem at all fair to me. And as Terry said, there was no way he would (or could have before the sudden change in rules) have put £1k on that bet. Not worried about the prizes - whatever I win will go back towards the B&A fund, but just really gutted that having put quite a lot of time into participating into this, and having been the best better of the year, I got screwed at the end.

last years comp had £1000 free bet for the last week and the leader was on £10K and no one got near him also bear in mind that the week you won 16K there was a rule that stated no one could win more than £10K, norge queried this and i said pay him
