British TdF etc rider, and hopeful participant in the Men's Road Race in Rio, Simon Yates has tested positive for a banned substance following 'in competition' testing. :-(
Talk about the wheels dropping off!

That's bad news, I've been chasing Simon's Strava PR on the Alderley Edge bypass. Now I understand why he's 9 minutes ahead of me.

This is simply an admin error and I doubt any ban (If any) would be too long.

This is simply an admin error and I doubt any ban (If any) would be too long. Indeed. It isn't the big scandal it appeared to be when news broke. The medication had been declared on the Anti Doping Record but the doctor failed to get a Therapeutic Use Exemption as issued in previous competitions for Yates.
