absolute shambles!! I have my Colchester away points still in my account from the ticket I bought two weeks ago but my Fleetwood and Blackpool points have been deducted despite being in there yesterday. No update or e-mail from the club explaining what the heck is going on. Just bought a Southend ticket just for the points even though I am in Suffolk right now, and unlikely to be able to get back to the match tonight. I have it as an e-ticket to print at home so PM me with an e-mail address if anyone is interested in it, and if I can't make it back, I'll ping it over, first come fist served. You will probably have all your loyalty points taken off you for that!! not a chance!! - if I leave work at 16:00 I should just about be able to make it but looking less likely now and if I can't make it back would seem a shame to waste the ticket - the loyalty points are awarded for buying a ticket, which is what I have done!!

Does seem like the club have basically invented a new set of rules which means that the people desperate to get loyalty points for the Man U game get them for paying STFC not for the games where other clubs would have got the money (away games) Seems like a money grab to me, and with little thought, communication or tact Or am i being cynical! Spot on.

So somebody who has bought tickets for Sheffield Wednesday at home, any two home league games, Blackpool away, and Fleetwood away will have the same points as somebody who's only bought a ticket for Southend at home. Mental.

Can they legally change a scheme where the rules have already been set out which I believe was the case a year or 2 ago?
I can can see another special list being compiled to 'favour' friend of club representatives! What they should be doing is limiting players and employees tickets to say 2 and making sure they follow the 'published' loyalty scheme, not making it up as they go along!

I can't quite see why they would want to penalise anyone's loyalty points for attending the cup games? There just doesn't seem any logic to it as fans who went to those games are just the regular, loyal fans who as a club you would want to reward with a 5th round ticket
Giving extra points tonight is just daft and is going to lead to trouble.
As others have said changing a system with no communication is seriously worrying way to go about things

Just seeing the extra £££s off the Southend game and loyalty goes out the window. Where does it leave a loyalty scheme when it can seemingly be ripped up mid season and any old criteria applied.

Completely bonkers!! To my mind anyone with fa cup ticket purchase history this season should slot in somewhere between 6 and 4 points, thus giving loyalty to those who could be arsed to go to 1 or more of Gainsborough, Grimsby or Sheff Wed & Cardiff games.

Sort of see where they are coming from re Fleetwood and Blackpool but they should have made that clear. But the Fa cup games and Southend things are mental! Might you, looking online there doesn't seem to have been a mad rush from one-off fans so far, looks much like any Tuesday game when we aren't doing especially well in the league. Which is a good thing, but also suggests the double points thing may not have been worth the grief...

The fact fans are been asked to pay £23/£25 a ticket for these matches and you can't even get the 4 points that they say you are entitled to on there own website quite frankly stinks.

I don't see a problem in not awarding points to away games AFTER the draw was made, makes business sense.
Taking points off people who purchased away tickets BEFORE the draw was made makes no sense however, and will get people's back's up (rightly).
We were sold the ticketmaster charges on the argument that the previous ticketing system wasn't fit for purpose -at the moment, it looks like this one isn't either.

Prior to Saturday fans bought tickets because they WANTED to go to those games, that's loyalty and all those games should count regardless of what competition it is or whether those games have actually been played yet or not.
There should be a cut off point and that should be the time the draw is made because after that point the system is open to abuse by those who a) have the time off and b) have the money to buy tickets they may or may not use. Yes some loyal fans will miss out on a couple of points but surely if you intend to go to Southend, Fleetwood and Blackpool then I would suspect that you have been to more than a few games already this season and you should already have banked enough points. If these are your first three games and you hadn't bought tickets before Sunday then I question your "loyalty".
I suspect if each person can only buy one ticket for the United game then even down to a few Loyalty points accumulated before Sunday should be enough. The Club just need to come out and state what the policy is and why people are having previous Loyalty points taken off their account with no justification.

I don't seem to have accrued any further loyalty points after purchasing tickets for the Fleetwood game.
Not massively concerned as have points, a supporter number etc, but changing the rules on a whim like this is not professional - even less so if it's not made clear.
How can someone who grudgingly sits out the Southend game tonight in the hope of boosting their chances of getting a ticket for the United game be rewarded with double points, while someone who makes the trip to Fleetwood on Sunday isn't?
It's reversing the system that was already in place, it's ridiculous.
I wouldn't be surprised if some people are buying tickets for tonight's game with absolutely no intention of going, it's just a de facto down payment on a United ticket.

As far as the Town are concerned people can buy for tickets for tonight's match and ram em up their arse for all they care . The Town have got the income and that's all that counts in their view . Its only bloody Tuesday and the signs already point to an almighty cock up . Dont know why any of us are remotely surprised .

They may have realised this as tickets are no longer for sale online for Southend (or is this just what happens 3hrs before kick off?!). They possibly noticed an unusual number of unaccompanied children coming from Manchester! So unless you've already got your ticket, and the stadium planner didn't suggest many had by mid pm, then you must at least have suffered seeing Shrewsbury at home once to get a Man U ticket!

Surely if anyone with a previous purchase history buys tickets for these games loyalty points should be awarded? Exactly, and non awarded if no previous history. But that would be simple, logical, justifiable and understandable... why the hell would they want to do that???

Be interesting to see if people with no purchase history turn up tonight to purchase tickets and get loyalty points. Might be chaos at the ticket office!
Would certainly be interesting to know how many new registrations have been made since Sunday's draw

Surely if the loyalty points were run consistent and applied consistently, people having one game, or even three if you include Blackpool and Fleetwood, would be suitably down the pecking order that it wouldn't matter? Trying to doctor things by doubling up Southend, and removing games such as the away games and previous cup games is a farce, especially with no communication and no clear policy. And it might just be me, but I think it's incredibly sad that people would buy tickets for games they have no intention of going to, just to boost their chances of getting a Cup ticket. The selling criteria hadn't even been announced yet ?

The Club just need to come out and state what the policy is and why people are having previous Loyalty points taken off their account with no justification. I defy anyone to question my loyalty to STFC. They're not my second team, I don't follow anyone else, I don't just have a 'soft spot for them. They are my team and will be until the day I die - cut me open and I bleed Blue and Amber, and have done since my first game in February 1989 and the (at least) 200+ live games I have attended since. Yes, I was at Wembley (three times) and the Emirates, and Everton and Chelsea at home in 2003 but I also saw Richard Scott score in a 3-1 defeat at Darlington in 1997 along with 36 other Town fans, a tram, two trains, and a bus (and the same on the way back) to Hull in the late 1990's, drove to a very cold Dover (to see Town play Margate) and a Jody Banim strike from the half way line in late 2004. I could go on, including the last ever match at the Vetch Field in 2005, the terrible defeat at Hartlepool last season, 5-0 defeat at Cambridge in 2003, 5-1 defeat at Rushden the week before we beat Everton, a 400 mile round trip after work to Sheffield Utd in November. It's also the case that of the 27 years I have been supporting Town I have only lived in Shropshire for 7 of those years, and 'home' games for me right now involve a 382 mile round trip. I also now have a mortgage and a wife and children and this has tested my attendance but has never tested my loyalty to the club, and never will, as my position on B and A since 2003 and my ever present subscription to Shrews Player would attest. There is more to loyalty than simply attending games. I have no idea what is up with my ticketmaster account but my Millwall and Sheffield Utd tickets were not showing (I have queried with the club but got no response as yet) in my online account leaving only the two points from my already bought Colchester away tickets. In not wanting to miss the Utd game I bought away tickets for the Fleetwood and Blackpool games and come Monday morning I had six loyalty points in my account, four of which disappeared today, with no warning or notification from the club. At the time I bought the tickets in good faith I was quite rightly expecting 4 loyalty points, which I felt with the two I already had would give me a good chance of getting me a ticket for Utd. What really riles me therefore is the flippant, insular, arbitrary and downright unprofessionally way in which the club have done this, in unilaterally removing the points from my account without even an e-mail to explain or anything on the website. The eyes of the whole world are on this club at the moment and they have behaved like a petulant child who hasn't got their way so are taking the ball home. Surely there was an anticipation that we might draw a big club, surely the club were watching the draw, surely someone could have amended the ticket system to explain that loyalty points would not be granted for tickets bought after the draw, but to be silent about it, and then to have the gall to add the points into my account only to then take them away, is downright embarrassing behaviour from a supposedly professional club. To compound matters, and noting my missing points from Millwall and Sheff U, and noting that attendance tonight by anyone would draw them level with me in loyalty points terms, I have been left with little option other than to also buy a ticket for tonight's game, even though as I write this I am preparing my kids tea in Suffolk, with no intention of attending. I feel let down and taken advantage of by a club that really should know by now how to deal with matters such as this. If you really want to talk about loyalty then recognising that it is a two way street is a good place to start. Come on Salop!!! Blue and Amber always

The loyalty point section on the website was updated on 8th August 2015 and states that one point will be awarded for each home league game and 2 points for each away league game. It does not mention specifically cup games at all.
Having checked an internet archive the previous version of the page (dated 7th November 2011) states that 1 point is awarded for each home match and 2 points for each away purchased through the club. No distinction over league or cup games.
This is the complete text from the old version of the page
What are Loyalty Points and what do they mean to you.
Supporter Number - Why do I need one?
To earn Loyalty points you need a supporter number and anyone buying tickets will be given one. This is a unique lifetime membership number allocated to each individual fan (Junior Members included). It will appear on all home tickets bought, along with your name. Season Ticket holders have a supporter number too, which appears in the season ticket booklet on the blue ticket in the inside cover. Once a supporter number has been allocated, it needs to be quoted whenever buying tickets. This number is also needed for online sales.
If you would like to use the online service please ask the Ticket Office to make your account 'web ready'. Once this is done you can go online and buy tickets.
Always quote your Supporter number whenever you contact the Ticket Office. This is the quickest way for the staff to access your details and help you.
Loyalty Points Explained
When a supporter purchases a ticket to support Shrewsbury Town Home or away through the ticket office at the Greenhous Meadow they will receive loyalty points. As of the 2012/13 season supporters who have purchased a Season Ticket, member of the Sovereign Club or Box holder will receive 23 loyalty points, thats 1 point for every 23 home league games.
Supporters who purchase on a match by match basis will receive 1 point for a Home match and 2 points for an Away match. For away games, If supporters wish to obtain loyalty points then tickets need to be purchased from Shrewsbury Town ticket office. As with all away games this season, if STFC have tickets to sell then loyalty points will only be awarded to supporters who purchase from the ticket office. If supporters pay on the day at the away club then points will not be awarded to that supporter.

Just bought my ticket for the game over the phone (usually do online but not available).
Got through to ticket master, very pleasant and told me that they no longer had the tickets available on the system, try ringing Shrewsbury Town directly.
Did this, got through but was dealt with very poorly. The woman on the other end was very rude and it just left a sour taste in my mouth.
The ticket office is quite often the only point of contact for fans, new and old. I know some great people who work at the club and it's a shame that their maybe a bad impression left due to someone not doing their job in the right way.

Biggest demand on the club for a long time, bigger than Chelsea. Not always easy to get it right straightaway but they need to try and provide answer to frequently asked questions as soon as possible. Run some of the questions past the Supporter' parliament (user testing in my book) to see if they've missed any obvious questions before it is published online. Well they've published a FAQ! mobile.shrewsburytown.com/news/article/manchester-united-tickets-faq-2935219.aspx

I assume it's an admin error or issue with the system, but no mention of it by the club. Assuming that was the case I don't see what the problem would be with the club owning up to it

Absolutely Raging.
Bought Fleetwood and Blackpool tickets before the draw was made. Was pretty confident of landing a ticket so booked Hotel & Travel last night. Awoke to find I've lost 4 points this morning which means my chances of getting a ticket have diminished somewhat and my 3 day trip is in jeopardy.
We thought that after the Chelsea game we had a decent system in place that folks could rely on.

I respect their decision to not allocate loyalty points for the Fleetwood and Blackpool games BUT ONLY ON THE BASIS THAT ADVANCE NOTIFICATION IS GIVEN. Being cynical but I can only see them fretting about all the money that was being spent on these two games going to other clubs, and wanted a slice of the pie themselves and so coming up today with the idea of double points for tonight's game and a unilateral removal of any points generated on those games. I've spent £70 now on tickets for three games, have not been able to make tonight's game, won't be able to make Fleetwood (I have a ticket if anyone is interested and not looking to charge for it) and very unlikely to make Blackpool either. I bought them both in good faith as, for me, a £50 outlay was a worthwhile investment for the benefit of some loyalty points and I felt the four points on top of the two I already had put me in a decent place to get a Utd ticket. Really poor and unprofessional behaviour from the club that leaves a really sour taste in the mouth. As I said earlier, the potential for us to draw a big club at home has been there ever since we made the third round - why was the position on loyalty points not clarified at that stage? As I said above, to make matters worse they were even added to my account yesterday, only to be removed today, leaving me with no choice but to buy a ticket for Southend tonight. I feel abused and taken advantage of - pretty ironic that we're discussing 'loyalty' points when that is precisely the one thing the club have not shown in unilaterally removing points from accounts that were accrued in completely good faith, n complete accord with the terms of the website at the time those tickets were bought. For a professional club with the whole world watching this game it is nothing short of embarrassing, yet again!!

Shrewsbury Town Football Club, the gift that keeps on giving. We seem to find new ways of hacking off loyal supporters all the time. Club always seem to be on the back foot by putting itself there. Just don't think through things.
Tickets for big games always difficult but after Chelsea which worked well I thought it was all sorted. Silly me.
I am not worried about getting tickets as even with the messing around will have enough points. It is the principle of the matter. Living 200 miles from the ground I don't have the luxury of popping down to get away tickets so have to pay Ticketmaster tax and postage. I do it even though it puts costs up so I gain points. If the club had been open about what was going on I could have saved money on numerous games this season by buying on the day.

We could have added a few more to the away support at the games in question. Both huge six-pointers so the additional vocal support would have been welcomed by the players.
Happy to actively reward the floating fans who may turn up tonight but penalise the hardcore fans who will make the substantial trip to Fleetwood/Blackpool.
We should be looking the exploit this opportunity from every angle. Not just financially.
