I wouldn't drop Tootle myself, if any of the full backs should be dropped it should be Sadler, but I wouldn't put Grandison back in the side at the mo, although he could be 'up for it' against his former club.

He will - and I've a nervous feeling some will be scratching their heads. If it works MM is the oracle if it flops let the fans decide.

Why would you drop three of the best players on the pitch at Rochdale? - Cole, Ogogo and Kaikai...

You never know Sounds like same genius Graham Taylor applied when he dropped Gazza against Ireland. Need some grit and none of this fancy stuff like trying to score.

Turns out Ellis and Clark have dropped to the bench, with Grando and Lawrence in.

Grandison in for Ellis and Lawrence for Clark. Can see the reason behind Lawrence coming in to strengthen the midfield but defence looks a little fragile to me - let's hope they all play a blinder and prove me wrong

Grandison way out of form to replace Ellis who has done great. Lawrence out of form to replace a kid showing great creativity. Weird.

I don't recall Lawrence doing much wrong this season.

Lawrence is our captain and leader, had a great season last year and has more pedigree and experience than anyone else in the squad. I believe MM is looking to use hi sparingly with his age and the higher physical demands of L1, so bringing him in to a midfield of young players with limited deep-lying capacity is fair enough for a tricky away game. By all accounts Cole seems to have been superb, so Clark sitting this one out seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Grandison for Ellis seems less logical, but I'm sure MM has his reasons. Believe Jermaine has put in some brilliant performances in against Coventry down the years, maybe that's part of the thinking.

What a ridiculous thing to say about Grandison v Coventry. What the hell has that got to do with today ? Lawrence has two blinders for Barnsley against Premiership sides so maybe Stoke will re sign him in January .......

If you thought Ellis was great on Tuesday night then I must have been at a different game... However I'm still surprised Grandison is back so early from the comments MM made about his fitness in the pre match interview

I'm a big fan of Grandison (cos ees black) but he really hasn't been himself for a while now. Out of sorts and low on confidence, and even I wouldn't have picked him today.

MM really has got to stand up now and grow a pair. Mix the team up because we need to start getting results yeah its early, but other players need to c what they can do. Like I said a bit of grit in the midfield pace in Whalley. And black needs a game.
