Rumour today that we've signed him. Can't say I'm familiar with the name. Position?

Good player.
Scored the winner for Exeter in that awful 3 2 defeat we suffered there last season.

Although there's some confusion on Wikipedia in that there is also an Aussie Rules Footballer of the same name.
And there of course you also score a goal if you slam it 10 yards either side of the main goal.
If we had those rules here, we would be top of the league.

Would be happy I'd true. Just turned 22, can improve and knows where the goal is. The sort of player we should be targeting if we're buying from one or two divisions below. This summer i felt we signed a few too many players who may end up " doing a job" but not likely to improve much given their age and history.

Why did the name Rob Purdie come into my mind as soon as I read your comment?

Finances mean in L1 will always need some players with experience who " do a job" and can play in a few positions (the Purdue's and Brown's of this world) but I'll be glad if we mix in a few more young players with potential like Walsall seem to do. Anyway, hope the Nichols thing is true.

His DNA would fit because although he has never played for Barnsley or Fleetwood, he has had a loan spell at Hereford.

Tom Nichols scored the winner for Exeter against us when they came from two down to beat us 3-2 last season, I've remembered his name ever since!

Wikipedia states that he was born in Wellington.
For one horrible moment I thought we might be importing a Telford lad, but on further examination there is apparently another Wellington in Somerset!

I thought you were old enough to realise that the hatred of Telford was banter that younger fans think is serious. Nothing wrong with folk from telford or your dissing a large percentage of our fan base. Yes the clubs a joke but the people are the same as those who live in Salop, except for a few more black country accents..... or perhaps you'rs is just banter?
