Mark Haywood, not to be confused with Mark Heywood who was the referee for the Chesterfield game.
Referee: Haywood, Mark Assistant Referee: Hobbis, Nick Assistant Referee: Bourne, Declan Fourth Official: Jones, Matthew

Ref was poor and very inconsistent but at least his decisions didn't effect the result

Only to be outdone by the linesman in front of the East stand.

The ref was no better or worse than most we have seen in the last few years. It does help if he has 2 (not 1) linesman who know what they are doing.

Is it me or are match officials becoming less competent. In other words f. ckin useless dough bags. Complete and utter bags of foamin s**te . More likely to give us a pen as the Torys are to admit they are f.ckn useless. As much use as a eunuchs foreskin. In touch with the laws of the game as much as I am with the whiff of Rhiannon's drawers .
I could go on and on and bloody on . Please carry on if you want .
The more I think about today's game , including the f.ckstick of a ref , the more I get annoyed . Spoilt my week end completely . Apologies to all, BUT not the ref the great heap of foamin t***.

That's putting it neatly. The whole tone was set when he gave them a goal kick for as blatant a corner as you'll see about 5 minutes in.

They were woeful.
But they did not impact on the result.

The linesman on the East Stand side was incapable of making a decision.
Just looked to the referee to bale him out, then stuck up his flag in accordance with the referee's ruling.

They were woeful. But they did not impact on the result. No, of course not. Just gave them goal kicks instead of giving us corners . Allowed Burton players to fall over as if they had been pole axed , so winning them free kicks. Gave us a free kick when we had the advantage and should have let us carry on. Gave throw ins against us in their defensive third when it was clearly, on at least 3 occasions our ball. Apart from the above and one or two other mind boggling decisions I agree , the officials performance didn't impact on the result at all.

Did the lino let Duffy free in the box to score the winner? Did the fourth official cause our lack of creativity? No, we lost the game because Burton scored more goals than us. But within the game there were some shocking decisions but they did not cause us to lose the game.

Quite right , we failed to hit the target on a few occasions when we should have done, and our marking could/ should have been better . The ref was pretty s**te though.

But what wrong decisions do mean is that they alter the course of the game. So we could have won 2 0 or Burton could have won 2 0 who knows? The officials yesterday were awful even the Burton fans were shouting about them. It's time for the football league to realise that some officials are just not up to it. The Lino by the East stand, couldn't keep up with play, couldn't make a decision without the ref telling him what it was and when the ref isn't that good either well ........

As a result of which, as has been commented on here, the East Stand Linesman had no idea about throw ins, looked to the referee for guidance, who then on at least 3 occasions got it wrong.

As I know the bloke from my refereeing days he's fair and honest been on line with him many times not his fault we are rubbish That makes it worse. If he was a dishonest cheat who dealt in brown envelopes I could understand some of his decisions. The fact that he is fair and honest just confirms that he is totally inept and not capable of officiating at this level.

Add Woolmer to that list and the Swindon fan from Salisbury and it begins to appear that ineptitude is a prerequisite for the job.

If the decisions he gave against us he gave for us we'd be saying what a great ref he was. Swings and roundabouts.
