How likely are they to be playing Saturday?
Could imagine Hall would love to shove one 'up us'.

Asa Hall hasn't made an appearance due to some bad injuries. I believe Richards will be starting at LB for them.

Asa Hall had barely played all season! Matt Richards is a regular for them though.

Cheltenham fan here.
Hall has been injured since 2 minutes into the first game of the season, but Richards will be starting at CM (not LB) which is good news for you lot as our regular left back Braham-Barrett is god awful.

I still remember away fans waxing lyrical about Richards at the start of our League 1 campaign.

Richards a class act in our promotion season.
Shame Turner made him play left back and on the wing, his form really suffered by being played out of position.
His strike vs Oxford will remain one of my favourites goals that I've seen at the new ground.

By no means was he a world beater but on his day he controlled matches for us with incisive passing in the midfield.

Would hope Richards gets a decent reception. Didn't finish out too well in his second season (although he could have been useful last season IMO), largely down to being played out of position but was outstanding when we went up - POTS I believe, and always tried his best. Hall just never really got a look in under GT and wasn't exactly great when he did play and seems to have had some rotten luck at Cheltenham.

Agreed... Proper mental that. Weren't we 2 down? I think so , our home record looked like it was gone. Richards picked the ball up and I can remember hearing a few " don't shoot" followed by a mass celebration, great moment.

One of the best live goals I've ever seen, enhanced somewhat by the unbelievable timing!

Tuesday night, 2-0 down quickly to two goals from Holmes, I think, and Asa Hall smashed one against the bar shortly after. Second half Mark Wright scored a great volley and then Richards did that right at the death. Seem to recall plenty of people saying that game convinced them that we were going up. Probably my favourite game of that season, mixed with the Port Vale 3-2 and Macclesfield away simply because of THAT goal (and Wrighty's, it just didn't have timing on its side as much) and all the goals and action being in front of me.

Hi goal at home to Port Vale in the replayed match in the promotion season is also memorable. Richards was a decent player and he was unfairly maligned by far too many.

I thought Richards was a decent player in his actual position and useless in many others but think there were a few victims of turners tactics in previous two seasons.
