Ahh Kickin Pretty.
After reading that election address I would have thought a more appropriate name for his fledgling party would be Children of The Herb !

Like some of those ideas actually. Lot to be said for the idea of a citizens income.

If the young adults of today needed a perfect example as to why to keep off hallucinogenic drugs and not drink in the Rock and Fountain, then this would be it.

Are there any pubs in Shrewsbury who get your seal of approval Leicester lad . If so , please tell Jamo . Mind you it's probably too late , I'd hardly call him a " young adult of today" .

Shrewsbury has more pubs per square metre than anywhere else in the UK. There are plenty of other drinking establishments to choose from that don't attract the kind of knuckledrugging E-E-EBF types that frequent the Rock, and the pious, cause du jour Nags clientele.

Oh dear!
I remember him turning up at practice nets for my cricket club, way back in the late 90's and then the next week saw him being ejected at Wrexham!

I met him at the hustings tonight. I think he was trying to tap me up for his new party. I explained I am apolitical!
I can't believe I was there tonight and of three people who helped put together the presentation for the launch of Shrewstrust - one is an actual candidate and another is the electoral agent for Danny K, and the other is me.

Did he take a few too many blows to the head in his fighting days? And then swallow a dictionary? Hilarious!

Who's going to pay this money to the oldies when there's less kids and immigrants?
Hang on, did I just take it seriously?

That always used to be said but with so many closing in the 50's 60's to present day not any more..... Strangely a town called Otley in West Yorkshire claims to hold the record (with others) so sort of a local connection news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7370986.stm

Sad to see so many pubs close in the Shrewsbury area. Friends from Newcastle on Tyne used to describe the town as having more pubs and churches than anywhere else they knew.

Serious question, why would someone who's apolitical (having no interest in or association with politics) attend the hustings (a meeting in which candidates in an election address potential voters) ?

Good point! By apolitical I mean I don't want to endorse a particular view or party to other people. I work for a Church who are neutral in terms of party politics. So I do vote, and I have my own personal preferences, but I would not seek to influence others to do the same as me, as that could be seen as unfair influence because of my role.

If I wanted to elect a middle-aged man with a Scottish surname, years of experience watching STFC, a wave floppy hair and a reputation for being good with their fists... I'd just vote for Mark in Glasgow.

Anybody else see our future MP in attendance today?
Would have had a chat about his manifesto if it wasn't for who I could only assume were his henchmen, kitted out head to toe in Stone Island.

Anybody else see our future MP in attendance today? I did indeed. He was engrossed in polite conversation for the majority of the first half and then disappeared for the second.

Today Tories will pledge no increase in income tax, n/insurance contributions or VAT. the NHS needs £10 bn, how on earth can NHS be safe with Tories? £12 bn in cuts from Welfare budget, the poor, sick and disabled hit again. how can anyone consider voting Tory.
at least Lib Dems plan to spend £8 bn on NHS. I do hope they have sufficient seats to curb Tories or Labour.
my prediction for election is Tories 293, lab 269, snp 48, lib dem 32, dup 8 plaid 3, sdlp 3, alliance 1, UKIP 1, independent 1, mr speaker 1 (wish Sinn Fein would take their seats)
that would leave Tories/lib dem coalition I short of overall majority. and Lab/SNP 8 short. the un known factor is will SNP take all 59 Scottish seats thus decimating scot libs and scot labs. I suspect tactical voting may bring SNP down to my guess.
question is, will Daniel be in for Shrewsbury and Atcham? I do not share his politics but he does a fine job in the commons frequently asking questions about the town and county.
