Since my prediction with 12 games there have been a number of changes.
Burton (+4 ) and Bury (+3) Wycombe (+2) are the only teams that have got more points than I expected.
The Town (-1) Luton (-5) Southend (-1) Plymouth (-2) Newport (-1) Stevenage (-1) Northampton (-5) have less points than anticipated
Prediction with 8 games to go:
Town 92 (12 games to go) 91 (8 games to go)
Wycombe 85 (12 games to go) 87 (8 games to go)
Burton 82 (12 games to go) 86 (8 games to go)
Southend 80 (12 games to go) 79 (8 games to go)
Bury 76 (12 games to go) 79 (8 games to go)
Luton 75 (12 games to go) 70 (8 games to go)
Just so all necessary information is on one thread I have added games each team have to play
Games to Play.
Town - Portsmouth (a) D&G (h) Mansfield (a) Exeter (h) Bury (a) York (h) Cheltenham (a) Plymouth (h)
Burton - Stevenage (h) Plymouth (a) Wycombe (h) Luton (a) Carlisle (h) Morecambe (a) Northampton (h) Cambridge (a)
Wycombe - D&G (a) Oxford (h) Burton (a) Tranmere (h) Exeter (h) Wimbledon (a) Morecambe (h) Northampton (a)
Bury - Southend (h) Cambridge (a) Morecambe (h) Newport (a) Town (h) Portsmouth (a) Wimbledon (h) Tranmere (a)
Southend - Bury (a) Mansfield (h) Hartlepool (a) Cheltenham (h) Newport (h) Exeter (a) Luton (h) Morecambe (a)

Can't see us getting 90+ pts. That means winning 6/7 of the last 8. Equally, I don't see Burton only picking up 10 pts from the last 8 either .

I am not ruling out Northampton from play offs. cannot see burton losing championship and sadly I see town finishing in 3rd spot behind the Wobblers. prove me wrong town.

I would even consider whether Wycombe might move above us. Obviously it's all down to points but we are still missing some key players. Hopefully Mangan and Lawrence can get through the season unhindered along with the rest of the squad. It'll be good to see Mangan get a start soon.

5 wins 3 draws 1 loss is more than achievable and I feel it could possibly win us the title.
Next 4 games will decide it for me.
Burton have tough opposition coming up and if they beat them then I can't see them slipping up.
Fair play to Hasselbaink, I really thought they would drop after Rowett left but they have gone on to another level.
I'll be honest, I am not feeling confident.
Bury are creeping up and Wycombe don't seem to be falling.
Our fixtures are more than favourable though and promotion is ours to lose.

It will only come into account if we are level with another team on the same points after 46 games. If we aren't level it will have no bearing at all.

Its strange how this season is going. At the end of last season the club were at such a low ebb most fans and the club would have been happy to settle for the playoffs at the end of this season. Now the situation has been totally turned on its head with many probably seeing a playoff place as failure.
I would be very disappointed if we didn't achieve automatic promotion but if not MM will still have done a great job in turning round the club.
Fingers and everything crossed for a successful end of the season.

We have planned for promotion this year and if we don't get promotion this year, It will be a massive setback in our plans.

Worryingly, the same applies with Bury as well, who are waiting to pounce on the slightest slip up!

to fall into the trap of the play offs would be disappointing after the season we have had. from memory town do not travel well in play offs, with the notable exception of the Britannia stadium after our brief flirtation in the conference.
no, our aim has to be auto promo, give the money pumped in and the class act of MM and his Marvels. hoping we may pick up points at Pompey. COYB FS

So none of your predictions has worked out right then, shrewed? Wouldn't say any of those run ins look especially tough, although a trip to Northampton on the last day could be tricky for Wycombe. Burton surely don't finish with 3 away games do they? Is their Northampton game at home? There'll certainly be some surprising results though, there always are. And momentum always shifts too - I doubt that Burton and Bury will be able to maintain their current charges for another 8 games. It's just about the top 3 now. A strong winning run could take the title but a 2 points a game average would see us comfortably promoted and that's the main thing. Would be great to win it but I'm not going to fret if we don't. No excuses - either we're good enough for the top 3 or we aren't. If we fall short and drop into the play offs but win at Wembley that would be a terrific achievement, because the disappointment at missing the top 3 wouldn't make us a good bet.

I agree but we all know in football throwing money at it doesn't always have the desired outcome.

Well you win some you lose some maybe be luck with the next 4. You are right Burton play Northampton at home. Burton's next 4 games could be decisive Stevenage (h) Plymouth (a) Wycombe (h) Luton (a)

Well done Town, did not expect to get 3 points at Fratton Park. That puts us into the positive compared with 12 games to go.

That could be a job for special agent Aaron Wildig.
