Stuart Pearce has been sacked as manager of Championship side Nottingham Forest, but has been offered an alternative role at the club. The 52-year-old over last summer but a run of six defeats in seven games has ended his time in charge. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31085816

Dreadful manager.
Goes in, gets the team going for a bit then they inevitably fade away.
Surely only so many times you can go to players "put some f***ing heart into it lads".
To think this bloke was in charge of developing Englands youngsters........

To think this bloke was in charge of developing Englands youngsters........ God, don't get me started. Never his fault; if he was in charge of Argentina's under 21s four years ago he'd still want Messi to play for him under the guise of it being "the best thing for him" rather than just wanting to make himself look good.

Take no pleasure in seeing some- one lose their job. I hope he finds employment within the game which has been his livelihood for many years, but as a manager I think he needs to set his sights slightly lower. I may be wrong but I think he became a manager quite high up the managerial ladder. Maybe he would do better to manage a lot lower down the pyramid and learn his trade.
Good luck to him, anyhow.

Stu-pid is as Stupid does.
Clearly nothing up top, I think that was obvious when he picked Micah Richards ahead of Beckham for the Olympics. Or Scott Parker as England captain.
Probably make a half decent coach somewhere but that's about his limit. As noted above, passion and wearing your heart on your sleeve can only get you so far.
Not only was he in charge of England's youth but the guy was also touted as Capello`s successor a few years ago.
I still shiver at the thought.

Living proof that "passion" as a manager only gets you so far.

Obviously on the cards
Think Pearce had it in him to enable forest to finish in a respectable position.... But to immediately replace him with someone who has a consistent record in ballsing up is bizzare
