Millions of them, all of them emerging after 17 years underground "The 11/2 inch-long black insects with iridescent wings buzz around, but are harmless." Bloody they might not be harmless, but at 11 and a hlaf inches long they'd scare the crap out of me!

May be harmless, but just did a bit of research and apparently there main predator is the king hornet, so look out for them buggers flying in to feast ;D

We get them here too. Bloody buggers always dive bomb me screeching out of trees when I'm walking to the station Damn they're noisy. Just before they die their noise goes really wierd like some kind of monster broken modem. Better than 4 inch long preying mantises though. Or the massive ugly poisonous centipedes. Or the big black flying cockroaches. Or the hornets. What a country I'm living in.
