Head of Stoke plod just been on Radio Shropshire asking people to travel by coach if at all possible.
Train station 2+ miles from the ground, no buses running.
Also major roadworks around the ground and may struggle to cope with expected volume of cars.
Sounds like being great fun !

I think its a poor show by Stoke. They knew there would be a fair crowd coming and when they get a big crowd they organise outside car parking with pay shuttle buses. They just don t seem to be making any effort at all. There was 40 000 for the Bon jovi concert with no trouble for parking as they used Trentham Gardens and bussed thousands up the road to the Brittania.

Whats the chance of a delayed kick-off. Or have sky got control of the game? Which means if there is 1000's of fans are still outside Sky Tele will have to stick to their time schedule and order the game to go ahead whatever the case?

coming back via stoke after a weekend in Bolton. At least we will dodge the traffic going north, but where are we going to park? We were going to go to the centre and get a bus in ablsolutely bloody ridiculous organisation

Would Villa Park have been a better option even Wolves or B'ham, i'm sure A'shot would be slightly happier also?

The marches school under 13s played to a few hundred people at Villa park yesterday in the Midlands schools final, and lost 4-0. If the had won they would have reached the national final at Stamford Bridge. either Coca-cola (organisers of the event) paid a lot of money to use Villa park or the people at Villa are just flaming generous!

good one tom - I played for years in the local leauges and never played on even Wem's pitch in a final - that's a top job for the girls, must have been great

As for the traffic - the worst possible entry to Stoke is from the A53. North and south use the M6, east uses the A50, traffic that flows.
The A53 route could potentially be a bit of a nightmare - it ends at a set of traffic light just before the M6 island which is tricky to get onto because all the M6 traffic gets priority -set off early.

I'd expect the traffic to be at most a nuisance, nothing more, talk of a delayed kick off etc it off the mark. I find it very difficult to believe PMT aren't laying buses on as usual though Did he really say that?

Just rung up PMT and they confirmed all bus services to the Brit have been withdrawn at the moment...must admit that reflects pretty poorly on us.
It's only a few quid in a taxi or a half hour or so walk but still a bit of a bad show really.

There's Longton Station which is north eastish and only a few miles from the ground...very few trains stop there though, depends where you're coming from I guess...I know the Nottingham- Manchester airport train stops there.

Domstoke what would you recommend as the best way to park and travel to the ground as me and some friends will be on our way back from Bolton to shrewsbury by car. Just cannot understand why there are not buses running. just seems stupid

agreed it does seem stupid to not provide buses I would advise parking near the Gardeners Pub and walking up to the ground from there (15-20 mins walk) The pub has a car park and there is street parking nearby. (some of it may be residents only so keep an eye open). circled on the map below.. www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=ST4%204BHThere's also a free car park just around the corner that very few people seem to know about, I'll PM you the details if I can get some precise directions off a mate who uses it regular.

hopefully, but it depends on what time we get there. Should get there OK as we are missing the traffic going north from shrewsbury.

also leaving around 9am. should be there before you as Imagine the roads up are going to be hell due to the fact that half of shrewsbury are heading the same way out of town.

Everyone I have spoken to has said they are leaving at 9.00am to try and beat the traffic so it is likely the roads will be just as congested at that early time Expect a 2 hour journey Personally I will be taking an alternative route from Shrewsbury which will avoid the A53
