To think they were a steady club until they hit the heights of the premiership, now since relegation from the that league its been freefall all the way, maybe into non existance.

Who remembers Bradford Park Avenue, the other Bradford side to go tits up. Used to be in the league, replaced by Cambridge Utd in 1972 (I think). Now plying their trade in non league circles.

I have sympathy with some clubs like Brighton who were basically ripped off by their chairman
but I don't have a lot of sympathy for Bradford, £40k a week for Carbone? Signing Collymore? It wasn't dodgy deals or unfair circumstances that has cost them, it is simply running the club poorly, just like Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County
Look at West Brom, they had one year int he premier league not two and yet are financially sound, int heir second year Bradford would have earned another £10 million more than in the nationwide but they wasted all the money

I think there's a deadline date, maybe the end of May. The league that loses a team would then run with one less team and adjust at the end of the next season. Thats my understanding of it.

It's no coincidence that all these teams in financial trouble are situated in socially deprived areas. These clubs just refllect thier communities.

There is an allowance through the entire football league for 1 or 2 less teams over a season. As has been said, they just promote up the next season.

Strange that Bradford P A's name should crop up again today, earlier on was checking some attendance figures and they are reported to have played in front of a crowd of 80,771 at Maine Road in a cup semi final against Man U. yes, how are the mighty fallen.

Oh the irony, the current leeds board of directors were recieving financial advice of Mr Richmond shortly before he was declared bankrupt!
what a t**t, needless to say he's still involved in football through his son who just happens to be part of the consortium that took over leeds a few months ago.

The Bradford P.A attendance (according to the official site) was 82,771. I have no idea why, but I have always been interested in the club and always look out for their results. I don't think that game was a semi final though, I think the quarters was as far as they ever got in the cup.

Sadly another example of a club over-reaching themselves "chasing the dream". Richmond is a clown but this is part & parcel of what has happened since the Sky/Premiership regime came in which has ruined football.
