He would be an excellent signing for us and a massive upgrade over what we currently have. Sign him up Mellon!

If he is not good enough for Northampton why would he be good enough for Shrewsbury.

But let's not forget the tremendous service he gave us when he was much younger. We have moved on a great deal this season. Last season he would have been our best central defender by a mile, but then again Douglas Bader would have been better than our two donkeys. At least he was good in the air.

Surprised that he's still only 29 but a no from me. 4 very decent centre halves at the club plus a promising youngster

No way! Nothing against the guy personally, he's simply inferior to our other defenders and could stint the potential progress of Dom Smith if we have an injury or 2.

He has not started a game for 19-month's due to Knee and Achilles injuries he has also made just four substitute appearances since March 2013. "It's not a financial thing where we want his wages back," boss Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Northampton.
"We want him to get some football so he comes back able to play 90 minutes."

If he is not good enough for Northampton why would he be good enough for Shrewsbury. He's been out for a while. Was clearly a huge player for them when they reached promotion final. Do we need him? No, would he be an improvement to the squad? Of course, he's a good player and still relatively young. I am unsure about Ellis, so if one of our center halfs got injured, if Kelvin Langmead stepped in (being fully fit) I would be satisfied.

He may have been a good servant in the past but we have moved on. Let him get match fit somewhere else but not here.

it occurs to me we are in danger overextending ourselves if we are not careful. just hope our attendance matches our results. should be averaging 6k after Tuesday.

I only have to mention Exeter City who are on their 2nd loan of £100k from PFA this year to pay their players to illustrate being over extended. I know RW would not allow town to follow that course as he is a wise and wily businessman.

Telford should sign him, they are awful at the back and he would get game time he needs.

Got a lot of time for him, good servant in the Peters era, but have him back now? No.
