A'noon chaps. I gather it'll be a decent crowd today if there's no bugger on here...

Another huge hard fought win against one of the leagues big guns.
Now we can finally look forward and enjoy Tuesday night.

Gutsy performance today against a solid but unspectacular Portsmouth side A strange penalty to give away but no complaints about the decision and they showed real character to come back Goldson and Grandison were immense and Jason Leutwiler made an incredible save before the first goal. Woods excellent but Wesoloski was my MOM

Thought Pompey were very solid and made things very difficult but showed too little up front to worry us. Great save from Leutwiler, possibly his best in a town shirt?? Collins looked tired from early on, hopefully he will get as much rest as pos between now and tues!! I still don't know who hand balled it for the pen??? Over all a pleasing performance because it was a tough tough game, and it was great when that noisy lot in the away end were shut up!! How it that dirty looking weirdo allowed to bring a bloody bell into a football ground?

Greetings from Utrecht where I am seeking a bar to watch the game on Tuesday. Well done Salop, I was resigned to a draw at best today. Onwards and upwards.

Thought it was a very tactical game, and the way Portsmouth set up certainly frustrated us for long periods, but probably dulled their threat as an attacking side.
Good to see us come from behind and win the game. Woods had a good game controlling from the centre of the pitch but not the best of days for the strikers who looked a little off the pace today. Will give Goldson benefit of the doubt that he meant the winner!
All in all a very effective work man like win, just what's needed to keep the run going.

Collins and Grimmer looked sluggish. The rest did a job, just about. We were always on top but I'm not sure we'd have scored if Goldson didn't fluke one. But you take what you can. Bring on Chelsea

Great result though not a great performance . Town , after going 1-0 down early on played very well to get back to 1-1. They passed the ball well and looked a very good side . Second half became very scrappy in my view and they seemed to get bogged down in mid field and messy at the back . Looked to be a certain draw until Connor crossed into the box and it drifted toward the far post fooling the Keeper and I think most people in the ground . Oh well, 2-1 will do us very nicely thank you . Portsmouth aren't a bad side really . To beat Bury and Portsmouth to keep our run going is brilliant . Our confidence must be sky high at the moment . Whatever happens on Tuesday our next away match will be very interesting and another 3 points would be very welcome . Just a question , how long an we keep young Ryan . I can't see him staying with us for too long unfortunately , surely money will talk and some Championship side will come in for him. Without a doubt he is class . I am looking forward to seeing how he performs against the best on Tuesday .

Was it a fluke by Goldson? He looked like he set himself well enough, keeper was off his line, if that's a pass it's the worst pass ever!
I thought bar the first 4 minutes we looked very solid and capable today.

I thought bar the first 4 minutes we looked very solid and capable today. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt then TBH . We do look solid overall and our first half was very good . As I said second half we huffed and puffed a bit , not quite as free flowing as we can be . We are a good footballing side but sometimes we stagnate a bit and don't move the ball as quickly as we should . When we pass and move as we can do I cannot see any side in this League competing with us . Supporting Town this season is a dream compared to the bilge we were served up last season and before anyone points out we were in a League higher to my mind with this side we would have finished well up the Table .

It has been a tactical masterstroke from Mellon to move from Wes and Woods behind Clark / Lawrence to having Woodsy back there on his own then the two further forward.
It gives us a lot more fluidity.
Demetriou and Grimmer were obviously told to pretty well not go past the halfway line.
That negated our attacking threat but meant we were very, very solid. Outside the first 3 minutes how many chances did they have?

Not a great performance but enough huff and puff to unlock a well organised and disciplined side who will be firmly midtable come next May. First time we have won 4 in a row since April 2012 too. Impressed!

Connor admitted he didn't intend it which is more honest than a lot of players in his position. Still, they all count!

Yes he was totally honest. His dad who sits near us just went completely mad and was beaming ear to ear though. If he'd been my son I'd have said of course it was a shot!!!

How it that dirty looking weirdo allowed to bring a bloody bell into a football ground? Always nice to quieten the away end but Pompey fans deserve credit for creating a decent atmosphere. The " dirty looking weirdo" seems anything but that judging by his interview in the programme. Quite an eye opener - never imagined he'd work in a bookshop (but appropriate really - don't judge a book by its cover)! Football needs a few characters and the bell and the drum added to the atmosphere. Very refreshing compared to the usual tired and stale "you're Welsh" and "sheepshagger" chants.

I scored a similar goal to Connor's in 1969. It was a punt upfield for our No.9 to chase, but the wind caught the ball and it sailed over the 'keepers head.
As each year has passed I've become more convinced that I meant it as a shot. Perhaps the same will happen with Connor.
