Theres a bloke and his missus who ride two old carthorses round the lanes out of the back of Hadnall dressed up as knight of olde.
And every Easter there is a get together by the foot of the Pimhill of those knights of olde re enactment types.

Ah, that was the Round Table Knights, a clan I was a member of back when I used to play Medieval: Total War on Gamespy.
Believe me, I have much worse strings to my bow.... any of you ever heard of the Lorien Trust? No? Good!

And every Easter there is a get together by the foot of the Pimhill of those knights of olde re enactment types. You could try looking up The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), or the White Company (the ones on Time Team who re-do old herbal stuff and whatnot). There's also a chap who pops up in the Star now and then, look through their archive, I think he recently got married in his old re-enactment gear.

I think it might be one of those things where they do strange things to turkeys as an "initiation"!

I retired several years ago, it's one of those things you get sucked into at college/Uni, like those strange religions you keep hearing about I guess. (fagin and Murray have obviously fallen into a twisted beer cult, that involves them donating all their money to several "churches" around Shrewsbury ;D ) 5000 people on an August bank holiday couldn't be wrong though, and the pics you got there are probably not the most becoming for anyone who indulged. When you've spent all day running around in full chain mail, then come back and laugh More sensible pics:

Could be worse, you should have seen the shopping trolley jousting tournaments that occured IN Asda in Long Eaton, Derbys. Quite a disturbing sight for the locals!
