the criteria for football league membership includes stipulations about minimumground capacities. a newly qualified member (ie clubs promotedb from the conference) must have a stadium that holds at least 4,000 SEATED supporters, of whom 500 must be under covere. clubs must also show they have the ability to increase their capacity to 5,000 (with 1,000 under cover) and must do so by may 31 of their first season in the league. after three seasons in the league, all member clubs must have a minimum overall capacity of 5,000 (2,000 under cover)
from today's times

I read that. They probably forgot that not everyone sits down, but I think the numbers are about right. The criteria has certainly been lowered from 6,000.

I thought it was 1,000 seats initially rising to 2,000 after three seasons.

I thought it was 4,000 capacity of which 500 had to be seated - under cover doesn't come into it.

Its a LJT recommendation that clubs do there upmost to achieve, deadlines for lower division clubs (99-00) got extended due to the financial implications.
The criteria to satisfy promotion from confernece to division three is that the club must be at least a 4,000 capacity rising to 5,000 and must have at least 500 seats with the possibility rising to 1,000 which has to be reached for qualification Then by 1st May in first season to achieve membership status the ground must be 5,000 capacity with 1,000 seats (ability to reach 2,000) Then by third season the membership criterion will be satisfied if the club has a ground with 5,000 cpacity with 2,000 seats.

haven't the league already confirmed (back in November sometime) that the Meadow is up to League standards? And anyway, if we don't produce the goods on Sunday it might be Aldershot fans having this conversation not us Let's just focus on the game first.

Well yeah the ground is fine, though i think most of us still want to relocate.
As far as reaching the league is concerned that is a different matter.
I think if the ground wasnt up to league standards it would have been established way back when we were relegated not one match away from a possible return.
