Went to see Fred Dibnah blowing up his last chimney this morning before he retires. It was in Oldham, just down the road. Always wanted to go and see a chimney being pulled down - absoloutel brill, though sad to see a 175 year old building being demolished in such a way.
The soot was a nightmare though, what a mess. All in my hair and some cars were covered!!!!

You couldn't give me the exact location could you ? I'm going for a pint tonight with a mate, a native of Oldham, who mentioned this a couple of days ago but couldn't visualise where it was.

I've seen a few of Fred Dibnah's 1980's documentaries on UKTV recently, an absolute death defying nutter but a man who is really dedicated to his passions in life, who else would turn down a holiday in Greece to go to a steam engine rally in Stockport instead?
