Fantastic and well done. I also lost my Mum at the Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury 16 months ago to cancer. It is an amazing and inspiring place. I also know the undescribable pain you're suffering but she will be extremely proud of you. The food they layed on for us the night she passed was Paid for by donations. God bless.

First challenge complete. 1.2 mile swim, 50 miles bike ride then 13.1 mile run. All of this horrendous rain and wind. Finished time of 5 hours 30 minutes. Half hour quicker than I thought ?

Have you done Paris marathon before? I'm doing that next year (April 2015). Interested to know what it's like - should I have already booked flights/hotel?!

Hi,
No I haven't run Paris before, by all accounts it is good but very different to London which I have done 6 times.
In regards to flights/ accommodation. I have booked a studio apartment over looking Notre Dame Cathedral, 350 euros for 3 nights. As the course goes past it twice my wife can watch me from the balcony before walking over to the finish. Flights are not available yet and I am unsure whether to Eurostar it or fly, will decide around Xmas I guess.
Have you done any other marathons before?

Cheers for the info. Done London twice and apply every year but fed up of not getting in so thought I'd go for Paris this time as well. Not been before and seems like a good way to see the city! Just in case you weren't aware, you need to go with a medical certificate at registration or they won't let you race. Best of luck with it all.

Ironman Completed
12 hours 38 minutes on a sweltering hot day in Nottingham.
It was an amazing day, full of emotions and lessons learned. I will be back next year to dip up 12 hours.
