MartinB and loyalshrew have gone on a day trip to Berlin to get a football fix today - they went to see Hertha Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund - the full time whistle has just blown and it's finished 6 - 2!!

Cracking game, cracking day out, the way the fans mix together puts English football to shame.
Sent couple of hours trying to converse with Dortmund fans who were a top bunch.
Will put some photo's up shortly.

how much did that cost you -was it one of the cheap Ryan Air jobs (we're going to Dublin in Sept about £15 return each + taxes)?

It was a fantastic trip, we ll organised mostly by MartinB! £35 for flights, £14 to get in. Went and did some sight seeng in Berlin in the morning and then off to the stadium in the afternoon. The stadium is going to be used for the 2006 world cup final and it's absolutely fantastic. The fans mixed in through out the ground and we made good friends with some dortmund fans who have invited us to stay with them if we ever want to see Dortmund play. English football could learn a lot about the fans mix and sit together. The atmosphere was also awsome and the game, simply amazing

Glad you guys had a good time. And 49 quid seems a bargain to go and see a foreign game inc. travel.

I was talking to someone from London a few weeks ago and he goes regularly to Germany for the football. He says it's cheaper than going to Chelsea, and more fun.
