Dont get me wrong I love this site, but the amount of times "Too Many Connections" comes up because of lack of bandwidth is a pain in the arse!
Unless Proboards pump up the bandwidth..what about a Rivals Return?

Give it until the end of the season chaps. It's not worth moving back to register only for a couple of weeks. Things will be quieter then and we'll be looking to moving to a very similar messageboard but hosted ourselves.

is it down to bandwidth jp, might be an idea to turn off all pictures and smilies.
that would free up a load

it's a simple answer, if it is the case just a few people looking at the seating plan thread would cane the bandwidth.
those pages and pages of different smiles, beers and banging heads would also add to the bandwidth being used up very quickly.
ask pilch though he may know better.

Those threads with the seating plans do seem rather big... and we do have some serial smiley users.... Young_Shrewster

As I only get the chance to look at the board at night, this is a constant frustration but look forward to developments as per Ant's note.
In the interests of preserving bandwidth, I won't add any smilies !

It's a complete pain in the arse tonight! I have been posting on the Stoke rivals site tonight about the Britannia (put a link to here, possibly why a Stoke fan turned up asking about tickets) and that is working fine. Looked at our rivals board for the first time in months as well, quite a few fans of other teams posting good luck messages on there...

I'm NOT making this up, honest!- I just hit "reply" to this thread- and GUESS WHAT CAME UP?!!! Yes- "too many connections!"
All the same- I'd miss the colours and the smilies and everything. (How "kiddie"is that?!!!)

Pictures and attachments and stuff will only be affected if loaded from proboard's site. Anything linked from another site like my avatar won't affect proboards. multiple use of the same smiley in the same page will only cause the browser to request that image once as it knows it's the same, however smiley image serving I don't think will affect it as it's small, bigger images though will fill bandwidth if served by proboards. Loads of page requests probably cause too many connections as each page request has to be rendered by the server in html form. Not much but when thousands are being requested it can take a while, so instead of conencting and rendering a page it simply serves you with a much easier no connections page.

I've checked with the switchboard operator at the Dorrington Exchange and she tells me they've been ironing the lines to increase the width, but she can't iron and plug in calls at the same time. Tsk Tsk!
BTW Dorrington exchange gets Broadband in August!!

I never used this board when it was on rivals, but ive visited a couple since ( duckchat ) and I dont find it anywhere near as easy to use or interesting a format as this one. You can almost see a flow of conversation on here, where as having to click to view the next part of a thread just breaks it up. It seems very bland on rivals to.
