Anyone been on Buckschat tonight and seen the stick they are giving their players for turning down pay cuts I would not point it out on there as they get really arsey about such things but you can not in all seriousness blame the players They are not charities, most of them have families to support, surely that must come first in their thoughts irrespective of their feelings for TUFC or any other employer.

I do actually have sympothy with the players
If the Players Stay- They risk folding the Club If the Players Leave- They are not guaranteed a pay packet unless another club comes in for them
Lets face it the older players on big money (we do have SOME young players you know!) who arent likely to get other offers are unlikely to accept a pay-off. e.g Simpson
Hopefully in June (if they still is a TUFC) clubs will come in for our players (hopefully some of our big earners) and thus the wage bill will be reduced
However, will any potential invester be willing to take that gamble? I dont think they'll want to be paying out more than 10K a week in wages for long

True James,
Its a hard one to call, but surely the players at a time like this must do whats best for them knowing they can be loyal yet still get shat upon (that is not being disrespectful to TUFC, it depends on all sorts of inponderables).

Players did not get the Club into the financial mess it is. However, as with all businesses that go belly up the workers always get let down and lose their living. If I were a player I would hang out for everything I could get. It is their job and it is no different to being in any other form of employment.

I can understand their frustrations, but they cannot blame the players
If Boots or BT or Royal Mail told its workforce they would only pay them half their money and then cut their contracts short with a pay off I am sure they would not accept it
would they really care if an "institution" would fold because of it? I doubt it, why should they get screwed by someone else's mistake
Andy Shaw screwed up everything and now Rob Cave is trying to make the players pay for it, that would be Rob Cave, the man who draws a wage as a director but seemed to prefer Dubai to the boardroom when the poo hit the fan, and now Robin Eaves is leaving the club, hmmm
TUFC are lucky they got the remaining games out of the players
If your employer halved your wages for two months then gave you a small pay off how would you feel?

If its true that the players were offered just 5% of their salary to terminate their contracts, its nowt short of pitiful. Unless...talk of this mystery buyer is at a more advanced stage than everyone thinks, and the players know sumat we dont

I'm guessing Whitehead and Ricketts...
If so; you'll walk the conference.
