I,rather stupidly, lent my 17 year old mate my driving licence last night to use as ID to get in to a club. It was confiscated by some bouncers and sent to the police station for me to "pick up". Has anyone had to do anything similar to this before? Will the police just give me a slap on the wrist or will it be deemed as fraud? I'm not sure whether to pick it up or just get a new driving licence. Any advice?

Mine was taken off me by a bouncer once, I was told to pick it up from the police station. After several weeks it never appeared so I rang the bar and spoke to the manager who said it will probably have been thrown away.
I told this to the police who said that's illegal and I need to report it. I couldn't be bothered as the manager wouldn't tell me who was working the door that night.
I just bought a new one.

So the police did not confiscate it, the door staff to the club did?

When anything is confiscated the door staff should issue a receipt, did your mate get one? Who confiscated it and what club was it.

Oh and with my old head on, learn from experience and think of the poor club that could have lost it's license whereas you just have the temporary loss of your ID!
