Stop trying to pinch the vets Right Back Lee ;D Whitters does a fine job here as is appreciated by much much more than 50% of this board

How much can you pay him? ;D Everyone here appreciates Whitters' efforts, it's just he's an easily accessible ear of the club (or "MUG" as it's known in the trade ). How much he passes on to those above is up to him of course, and how much they listen is up to them. More than anyone I'm sure he understands the old adage: "You can please all the people some of the time......" Keep up the good work Ian, and remember whatever we whinge about, it's probably not ALL your fault ;D

If this is a comment about the play-off ticket arrangements I disagree that Ian is being slagged off. I think some very relevant points are being made concerning the non-arrangements for a large number of the club's core supporters are absolutely spot on.

sean, that's the reason for that thread to try and gauge the feeling.
though i do take most of it with a pinch of salt as how many decisions are based around the thoughts of about 30 people who have posted?

Then why put it up there Ian?
To be honest I think basing a ticketing decision on the opnions of 30 people is better than basing it on the opinions of 3 - the board.

Whitters is a legend, I dont think many on here doubt that. He is just in the unfortunate position of being the only real go between for the fans and the club, and often ends up getting very unfair and unwarranted abuse over club policy etc, when it is nothing to do with him and indeed not his fault. He also has the issue of often having to take the clubs stance on things, even if they dont mirror his personal opinion...it wouldnt go down too well with the club if he was spending working time slagging them off on here would it! He is as much of a fan as anyone, but he has to look out for his career first, and the fact that the club kept him on even through all the PTV/ITV Digital malarky is a testament to his great work for STFC. Whitters has been our webmaster as long as I can remember and the site wouldnt be the same without him, keep up the good work Ian

Then why put it up there Ian? erm, to gauge feeling? 30 is a good cross section but histroically b&a posts are very histerical when it comes to tickets and ticket allocation, and on most occasions are off the mark.

Then why put the question up there?
I don't see that much hysteria on the thread to be honest Ian.

Whitters is a legend ;D
I think you're being harsh on those who have contributed to the ticketing thread though to be honest - there's a wide range of people who have posted on there and surely you have to agree that all the comments and thoughts that have been put forward have been well written and supported.
I hope that whatever policy the club take for the game it all goes off without a problem...

Then why put the question up there? It's logistically simpler and cheaper than organising a phone-in/mailout or street survey, and gives him something he can present as opinions of regular Town followers. If we had other matches in between perhaps "comment slips" could have been distributed, but this is at least better than nothing! If everyone who had a rant here wrote their thoughts down and sent it to the Board, perhaps they would pay more attention. A lot likely won't, so this is an opportunity for their views to be duly noted and fed back to the people in charge. Come on, you don't think it's for Ian's own sadistic self-gratification do you?

Who is slagging Ian off I think there are a lot of people disappointed and bemused by stfc decision not to have the game all ticket, but I cant think of anyone on the thread actually having a go at Ian. Stop your crawling Lee ;D

Ian, the people who posted on the 'home leg not all ticket' thread are your core customers. We are the people who buy season tickets, priority cards, merchandise and rarely miss a game. Our opinions are infinitely more valid than any random survey of 1,000 people on Pride Hill. It's the sort of input marketing men would die for, just ask a professional. The views expressed on here should be taken seriously by the club and not dismissed glibly.

Ian Whitfield, please read. Please note the words 'random survey' not fans as you allege. Sorry to rub it in, I think you're great , really
