What a weekend i will hopefully have in store for me.
On Saturday the 15th i will be making my first trip to the Millenium Stadium to see Wigan beat St Helens or Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup final, then On the 16th i will hopefully be at the Brittania to see the Town re-gain their league status.
This could turn into one of the best weekends ever!!

I suppose I (nominally) support St Helens, because, although we're officially "Wigan" here in Billinge, there's a lot of St Helen's supporters around here. Most of my friends support St Helens- and so do the Headmaster, Secretary and other members of staff at the school I work at in Newton-le-Willows. I live in the Wigan area, but work in Merseyside. However, Wigan are a great team. I'm not really into egg-chasing, so I won't have a hissy-fit if Wigan win!!

And............
it's going to be a St Helens/Wigan final. They've just beat Hudderfsield 46 to 6.
They are deadly rivals! You'll have to teach them a variation on The Telford Family. (To be honest, St Helens is a lot scruffier! But "The St Helen's Family" doesn't have the right "ring" about it somehow. They pronounce it "Sint 'elens!" - and they sound really thick. Liverpool call them "Woolley Backs"!!
You could miss out "the" to make it fit the tune...
Your sister is your mother....... etc...etc...
You only **** each other ...St Helens family!!
Good job my friends don't read this board. St Helens is a dump. Even people who've lived there all their lives say so. The rugby team, however, is very good.

It is a dump, i've been on a few occasions. There team are doing quite well this season, but im confident. I shall try and start that song off on the 15th, not sure if it'll be quite as loud as when we sing our version a day later!

My cousins used to live in St Helens, therefore I support the rugby team, but like Wiggy says it is a horrible place. They recently moved to Skelmersdale, which, though still far from being a nice area, is slightly more respectable!

There are a few nice places within easy reach of Skelmersdale. The place is overlooked by Ashurst Beacon- and The Beacon country park. ( It's part of the Billinge/Ashurst/Parbold ridge - and it's all a little green oasis in the middle of the awful urban desert!)
Southport is fairly near- and that's very elegant in parts. Lord Street, Southport has an almost Parisian flavour.
It's really funny- Wiganers hate "Sint 'elens" (Pie eaters versus Woolleybacks!) They both hate Scally- scousers.
I suppose it's a bit like Shrews hate Telford and they both hate Yam-yams!
(I came from Market Drayton and, at that time, no-one was really accepted unless three generations of their family had lived there, at least. I don't think they liked "Pottery" people using the town like a dormitory!)
