An athletics stadium and an away end with no roof.

Has to stand a chance of TV would of thoguht, especially given our recent record playing non-league teams, Halifax - Charlton will prob be another one on telly.
Glyn Thompson plays for Newport, so be good to see him again

Away to a good Blue Square club looks a tricky game on paper!
Not too far to travel though and it looks like they have a 5000 capacity so should be ok for getting tickets. Looking at their website it looks like Glynn Thompson our ex keeper is on their books. Justin Edinburgh is there manager

Away to a good Blue Square club looks a tricky game on paper! Good? They're currently 22nd in the Conference! Lost 4 from 9 played at home. Yes it's the Cup, but c'mon it's very winnable! Having the right attitude throughout the club is key. GT will sort them out!

Last played against them in a pre season friendly under Ratcliffe - tidy little bar under the stand and nearer than a home match at Planet Greenhous for me and junior.

Defintiely going to this.
Could be a big crowd as Cardiff City and Swansea City are on International Break.

Will bring back plenty of memories of when they beat in the Welsh cup final - our last "competitive" match I would think and they beat us home and away
new ground and easy train journey so should be a few going

As far as I can tell the last time we played them competitively away from home was in 1980, in the 1st leg of the Welsh Cup Final. If journalists are looking for an angle to build up the game, they may note that Graham Turner played in that game as did John Aldridge for them. Certainly tempted to go

Its reasonably local for me which is probably the only positive I can think of!
The away end is a temporary stand which is right behind the goal, so at least we wont be as far from the pitch as we was at Rotherham, the ground is a fair trek from the train station/town centre though, but the police may lay on buses for the away support if a big following travels down and bearing in mind Newport's reputation.

Surprisingly, when they beat us it was the first time that Newport County had won the Welsh Cup.

Wales play Norway on the Saturday at 3pm in Cardiff.
Likely to have any effect on when our game is played do we think?

hmmm, I wonder how many of those fans who turned up to watch the Arsenal game make the trip to a ground the opposite to the Emirates!
Wonder what the ticket allocation will be like? I will be going, probably take mini-little-blue-foot with me also. Train seems the best option.

Not a great draw in all honesty but a good chance to banish the memories of Blythe and Staines.

Not the draw I was looking for. Excellent chance to progress though and an outside chance of live TV coverage.
Would imagine that there could well be the potential of crowd trouble at this one. Newport 'fans' were involved in incidents at Wrexham and Crawley of all places last season.
