hard to know what to make of that story. Does it imply that the two guys were driving separate cars or that they were both in the same vehicle?
Very ambiguous but I'm sure things will become clearer in the next day or so......

seems to me they were both nicked as they were both in the car and the coppers have to prove who was either driving or in charge of the car. Also, no doubt, leaving the scene etc. Very limited info, but it sounds like Bannan was held in custody and Collins wasn't...

Not good. Anyone have any idea who's car it was they were in? Who were more likely to have been driving? I gather with it being a Range Rover it would be the Villa lads car...

Will this incident attain the same 'legendary' status as when Vic Kasule wrote a car off?
I'll draw my conclusions when the facts are out there (if they ever are).

I hope he's not in the squad on Tuesday and fined two-three week's wages. That should do the trick.

So at this stage you would fine him and drop him despite not knowing if he actually drove over the limit, and was only a passenger in a car being driven by a friend who he may not even have known was over the limit? I appreciate that he may well have been stupid, criminal or both, but until we actually know, hold off on the firing squad.

All i'd say is that he should be suspended while the Club make enquiries.

If the club see fit to let him play and train, that's good enough for me - they will have heard JC's version of events. I

I am sure the club are talking to him, if it was him at the wheel (the Sun article hardly mentions him at all) then justice will be served in the law of the land not in the Kangaroo environment you are advocating. Yes drink driving is a terrible thing to do but until you know why come out with more dross?

Drink driving is certainly a serious issue, but all the reports say they were arrested on suspicion of drink driving and failing to report the accident. Not sure what grounds the club would have to suspend Collins based on that evidence?
The club stood by Luke Rogers when he had his run ins with the police so based on the evidence in these reports I can't see what grounds the club would have to suspend Collins or fine him

GT says Collins was not the driver of the car involved in the accident and did not fail a breath test but they are conducting an internal enquiry into his actions and he will be disciplined by the club.

GT says Collins was not the driver of the car involved in the accident and did not fail a breath test but they are conducting an internal enquiry into his actions and he will be disciplined by the club. "Well if we clarify the situation. He wasn't the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, he did not fail a breath test. However, there were issues concerning in the events of Saturday night that we, the Club, have had to deal with. There's been an enquiry, there'll be internal discipline which we won't announce but that is the situation." www.shrewsburytown.com/articles/20111024/graham-turner-pre-accrington-stanley-home-1112_2265578_2492445

anyone know what the club's rules are about drinking before a game? I would imagine if you have a Tuesday evening game you shouldn't be on the pop on the Saturday? Don't know if Villa have a game tomorrow?
