In car, strange game. Crowd quiet too, Marshall impressed for Barnet. Richards I thought had good game for us. Guess you know when were your on way to better things when you play average and win, strange way to go 2.0 up as was against the run of play.

Pretty much sums up what they were saying on ShrewsPlayer.
Sounded to me that Ainsworth was MOM.

Jekyll and Hyde performance from Town - created some great chances at times, but also gave Barnet far too much time and space and went in for some comical defending
Three points in the end but a few problems in the team to sort out by next weekend

Both teams attacked well bit defended abysmally. A draw would have been fair.

Thats not the first time Town have late to beat Barnet anyone remember Micheal Symes(by the way who scored for Bournemouth today) who scored in stoppage time to us a 1-0 win over them in 07/08 i also that remember also they got very lucky then and they got very very lucky today.

Sorry but Richards is to slow to play in our midfield.Having Meal back in goal is also a step backwards god i do hope Smith is back next game,it showed today the defence have no confidence in him and he looked nervous. Anyway a win is a win i suppose lets move on to te next game and hope for a improvement.

Thought Neal did everything he had to do competently today, his kicking was very good.
The first goal, blame will no doubt be attached to him, but I and many others sat around me were convinced it was more the defending, as Neal did call for the ball to be left for him.
The three points is the most important thing and nice to see Richards get his first goal for the club.

To me Neal is the same as Smith, We have two keepers that used to be number 2 keepers and it shows. To me Neal preformed as well as Smith and thats the problem, We need an out and out number one in our team and a good back up.

Thought Neals distribution was good but clearly still struggles with the communication between himself and defenders........Listening to GT postmatch I get the feeling he was less than impressed with some and the comment about shipping in 5 goals in two games may have some bearing on certain defenders etc, Sharpes looked about as mobile as a pig in reverse for the first 45 minutes and I'd like to see the first Barnet goal again because that was calamitous.
As a side note I still believe that Wigan Athletics young keeper, Lee Nicholls was here on loan last season for more than just a stop gap measure and wouldn't be surprised to see him back at some stage.

Defence was fairly poor today, we attacked well at times though and created good chances. Disapointed though as I feel we could've easily won 4 or 5-0 today.
First half we played alright and we were comfortable after Richards & Gornell scored.
2nd half we got a bit complacent and let Barnet have possesion too much. 1st goal was a clear mistake by Neal & SCS both to blame.
We attacked a bit more after they equalised and so glad & releived when Ainsworth (with his new blonde hair) got the winner.

I thought we got very lucky. Yes we created a fair few chances but second half was very lethargic and we just dropped deeper and deeper until they scored. I'd really like us to learn how to kill teams off or go for the jugular. It's long been a town failing of trying to defend a lead.
Ainsworth MoM for me. In and out of game but some real quality touches when he got the ball.
Overall, from what I've seen this season we look stronger going forward but considerably weaker at the back.

Think we were lucky today. Thought it was probably our worst performance (at home) this season.
We started the first 20 minutes very, very poorly. Our defense looked shaky and the strikers/wingers were feeding off scraps. After out first goal I thought we looked a little sharper going forward and probably deserved the 2-0 lead at half time.
Second half we should have put the game to bed in the first 15 minutes. The game could easily have been 3 or 4-0. The defense still looked nervy and that was shown for Barnet's first goal. Not really sure who to blame yet so i'll watch the highlights. Barnet's second goal was nobodies fault and was a good strike from Marshall, who I thought was their best player.
MoM Ainsworth as he looked to be the most creative player for us today.

I thought the mid field struggled a bit today despite the well taken goal. Ainsworth didn't seem to really get into it until the latter part of The second half and when he did he caused them all sorts of problems.
Made such hard work of it.

I know Richards scored but I still think Mac is a better player. Richards was very anonymous until he scored and only then did he start to chase the ball, but he scored, so will he keep his place? MOM? Don't think so. If I had to choose a MOM, I would struggle! Lenny the Lion? hmmm, it would have to go to Lionel for scoring the winner, but not for overall performance.
There was a point in the match where I asked 'has Grandison done more attacking runs down the wing than Wright has?' Wright had a very quiet game and would like to see Taylor given a chance, not just a 10 minute stint at the end of a game, but to start.
Big Marv! How did he miss from a yard! I know it bounced and hit his middrift, but any other piece of anatomy would have put it over the line, but he works very hard and would not like to race him over the 100 metres! He is a very quick and powerful forward but his finishing today was not good enough. Collins for Marvin next game? Gornell is a good player. And would like to see him start again.
I know we got 3 points but it was an awful game. I'm not complaining, but good grief, for the first half hour we couldn't string 2 passes together. Pass back, hoof up the field, lose the ball! That's all it was! I think all our players were guilty of giving the ball away when they tried to do something clever! Sometimes it was painful to watch! And when Barnet had that free-kick on the edge of the box on the 90 minute mark, I thought it was going to go in!
Oh well, at the end of the day it was 3 points, but not a performance I would like to see from the team too often!

All those blaming Neal for the first goal, must also blame Smith for an almost carbon copy against Swansea, when SCS back-headed the ball into his own net. If Neal did not call, he must take the blame, but if he made a clear call, then not his fault. Still think that over a season, neither keeper will be good enough. As for all the votes for Grandison man of match, on Shroppie - I thought all the Barnet threats came from him playing too narrow, and giving his winger 30 yards of space each time they attacked. I hope he wasn't playing to instructions by doing that.

Reminded me of when Shaun Wright-Phillips burst onto the scene!

If we could get him, would be happy, but who would go?

Thing about Wright is he plays poor but always has a goal in him all of a sudden. One thing I do think Wright needs to do is get stronger. Not strong enough on the ball and gets pushed of it easy. Lionel gets away with being small with pace and skill, Wright is not that quick for a winger.

Wright Wright, yes, if you had to choosed between them two today, but over a season? I don't know. Wright didn't look interested today, there was no urgency about him

Problem with Marshall is he seems to have a very poor delivery from out wide. I can only recall him putting in 1 good ball into the box, which to be fair to him was brilliant.

does that ball into the box include his goal? A good player and if they get relegated then I would hope that GT would buy him just because!

Let's be honest three points are three points but that is the luckiest three points the Town have got since Turner was appointed. It was in my opinion the poorest home performance under Turner. No urgency, no control only hoof ball. If the town are to win automatic promotion there needs to be at least 3 additions to the squad.
The squad today was besides Bradshaw those players available to Turner and I'm afraid there are several who just aren't consistent enough.

Lets be even more honest................ you have hardly posted a word about "our" side in a really good run of 7 wins out of nine having condemned us pre season as a bottom half of the table team. Or be even more honest and recognise that actually GT has improved the squad/team with his signings....you having written them off before they even had a chance to kick a ball. And please don't start me on your ramblings about the central midfield or should we go and beg for Disley back. And how are Crewe doing with their fantastic manager

we certainly gained 2 points today barnet must be gutted not to take a point at least
i'm a little disappointed in turner and his subs again he has the balls to make a big change re the keeper but when a lot of people can see collins for gornell is crying out he has to wait until some sort of justification allows for him to make the change (the 2nd goal)
ok you can argue he got it spot on as we then went and scored the winner but i thought the change was a must a good 15 mins earlier
not a big issue really and only an opinion at the end of the day we got 3 points we may have played better than that and lost 3 points = end of debate for this week

Strange but entertaining game yesterday. Barnet, after their mid week Gillingham win were a big banana skin in waiting. But thankfully we came through it albeit with some question marks hanging over the defensive performance. TBH I was surprised GT effectively made 3 changes in defence and this may have contributed to the problems. However now I expect those 5 players to be given a couple more games together to get better as a unit. Richards did very well and I was surprised that him and Wroe looked a potential decent partnership for the future. A word for MM, not his best game but his willingness to chase down lost causes late in the 1st half set the tone for a good period where we scored 2 goals.
