Football is simply fantastic, we all know that. But are there some things in particular from football that you really love or find amusing?
There's a few things for me like when after a minutes silence everyone shouts at the top of their voice to encourage the players or when a ball hits a player anywhere within a 1 metre radius of his arm all the fans in unison shout 'Handball'

That moment after a really close shot misses and every one thought it was in - you look about and the whole stand has head in hands looking bemused!!!
The bar getting hit really hard!!

Fit women physios such as Exeter's ;D Do you know her Shakey?
The F.A.Trophy, 'cos it's only 10mins at half-time (ah, the good old days.
As a kid as well, if we hadn't gone to a game, I used to love the old BBC teleprinter bringing in the final scores as the full time whistles sounded up and down the country.

Get dicked on away from home and winning 1-0 - the ultimate injustice and beauty of football.

All moments described by Danny Baker as 'Waheeey' moments when all fans unite in cheering. E.g. The ref falling over The floodlights going out during the game The linesman getting the ball kicked into his southern regions etc..

you can't beat that feeling of being away at your bitterest rivals, of the sense of apprehension walking to the ground , all the bravado and banter in the stadium and then nicking a late winner, then leaving the ground with the hairs on the back of your neck sticking up . Pure bliss

The ball being kicked into the crowd and you make a clean catch - or even better - head it back.
A few years ago my mate Andy made a great catch and Eagle came over and offered him the gloves ;D

It's the barriers football can break down. I had a Greek friend, Yanis (R.I.P mate), he spoke about 10 words of English, I speak about 10 words of Greek.
I will never forget the day we spent nearly 2 hours conversing about different football teams and matches.
It's also visiting different place and the friends I have made.

Jumpers for goalposts..The sound of the lace connecting with the bone in the nose...Deep heat between the fingers while adjusting the tackle....no.....Louise Redknapp....Hubba Hubba.

The shine of the floodlights on a wet pitch on a midweek night... I dont know why, but I love night matches.
I love it when the Wakeman Stand becomes animated. for whatever reason
I love it when an opposition player's appeal for a penalty is turned down, and everybody within 200 metres shout at him.
I just love lower league football.

Last gasp winners Crunching slide tackles (Aiston at home to Rochdale last year was the best ever!) Opposition player sent off/misses penalty That sudden surge of energy in the crowd when you are level/behind but pushing forward looking for a goal Ridiculously high scoring games (4-3, 5-0 etc) Losing late on...makes you feel physically sick but footy wouldnt be footy without it When the winger/striker gets the ball and suddenly surges past their marker with a burst of speed or skill I will think of loads more later

Winter floodlit matches, when the air freezes as you breathe and the grass is just getting the glint of frost starting.
Scorching Saturday afternoons at the start and end of season. (and then watching the whole stand lift their hands to shield the sun from their eyes so they can follow the ball!).
Following a player through their career from school boy to full international - but you do feel old when they retire!
The boys faces when they see Lenny and how they harp on about going to see him.
The goals.........

Autumn games at the Meadow when the leaves are floating down from the river side trees, especially when floodlight - magical!
Remember 2 or 3 years ago when the ref had to stop a game so leaves could be brushed off the touchline?

Watching a floodlit game- magic atmosphere.
Listening to some supporters witty remarks about players -and refs!
The times when they "get it together" as a team- and it seems like they're reading the game so well, it's almost like telepathy. It's like poetry in motion at times like that.
Seeing the occasional really brilliant goal- like that one against Scarborough in February- Sedgemore's.
I'm not that knowledgable- but learning more each time I see a match - that's a favourite thing in itself.

Knowledge is a very dangerous thing Pauline. I was sat next to the manager of a League of Wales team when Sedge took that free kick, he said to me seconds before "why the F*** are they letting him take it?" Experts eh! Give me blissful ignorence every time
