I sort of agree with Ned, personally i'm happy were out. Been Wembley (new) twice with Town, and although to see us win a cup there would be nice the fact were have them extra days off between games in the League appeals more to me. Rather not be playing Barnet and Macclesfield next season than a day out on a grim Sunday in North London. Sums up my thoughts. Think all of our focus should be on getting the club out of this league, and at the current time the trophy just doesn't seem worth bothering with. The cash guzzling Wembley day out holds little appeal, and the preliminary rounds are hardly glamour ties. If and when we're safely in mid table in league one then the trophy might be a good distraction from the league. Would have preferred not to lose to Walsall but really not fussed about the competition as a whole

Defeats are always disappointing but I'd got over this one 2 minutes later. As my son said, if we'd cared that much we'd have been there last night.

Well, am with Ned on this, in that defeats are not good news ... but hopefully less fixtures mean less tired players (not that I ever understand how 2 games a week makes them tired!), less yellow cards, less injuries.
Also bemused by the big game the Arse stuff ... when actually that home fixture against Accy when we drew 0-0 was far more significant for the club's future.
JPT ... glad we have no more of it.

It's amazing, how many happy we're out were castigating Neil Warnock last week...

Warnock is a manager of a side who play 38 league games in a season.
How many less is that than last year?
I would like us to do well in the JPT but understand those who don't. The comparison to a Premier League side with no presence in European competitions is not fair in my view.

At the end of the day, Turner wanted to win last night, however, his selection and substitutes indicated that winning wasn't the be all and end all. I'm happy to go along with this, though I would much rather we'd won yesterday.

It's amazing, how many happy we're out were castigating Neil Warnock last week... Not a valid comparison. Fans have no professional responsibility, managers do. I'm not "happy" we lost, but not too bothered either. I don't get paid to win games and I'm not the team manager, so it's not my job to motivate the players. Warnock should have told the QPR fans he wasn't motivated and wanted to be out of the cup - before those fans shelled out. Again, not a responsibility I have. I have due respect for Walsall beating us. Not something Warnock showed towards Rochdale.

Personally wouldn't have used the term "good news" but think the game gave Turner a chance to check out a few squad players, the team put in a decent performance but a long run in the competition might have caused a fixture pile up later in the season. Back in 2003 we had good cup runs and it did us no good In the wider scheme of things I think clubs do play too many games now and getting rid of the trophy and possibly league cup would be a good idea. Less matches would help the finances of supporters and might make winning a trophy more of an achievement. It's not yet September and we've played 8 games - if you went to all these games it would have cost best part of 150 quid. Not sure playing 60 plus games a season a year does players much good either although know this possibly isn't a view shared by others

Going out of the JPT at this stage doesnt matter a great deal to me, I'm more dissapointed at seeing us lose to our 'perennial bogey side' Warsaw again!
Was a good entertaining game last night though, regardless of what competition it was.
