Delighted with tonight's result.
Now we can forget about this competition for another year.

Delighted with the result? Don't be a plonker! Although I see where you're coming from, as in you think too many games etc... wins boost confidence regardless of when and against who! Performance wise it sounded ok tonight, but certainly not a result to bang on about!

don't agree with Ned that often, but have to say i more or less do with this. Prefer to concentrate on the league. We haven't got the biggest squad, and sounds like town played fairly acceptably, i have no problem with the loss really.

odd comments Ned, but hardly going against the grain for you is it? I could never be delighted with a defeat. Not disappointed we're out but not delighted by any stretch of the imagination

Good news is other players got a chance. Morgan, Wroe, Sharps etc got a well earned rest, no one is injured (as far as i know) and we dont have to worry about this competition anymore, lets just hope the players keep their heads on for the next few league games, which in reality are much more important then Arsenal, i really do worry its going to be in the players minds, beating Hereford and Vale is so much more important!

Ned you are back to starting too many "must open" threads that are nothing to do with what the title suggests Just to get a reaction I think They are ok now and then but come give us a break or we'll have to limit them again

As a supporter, how can you ever say that losing a match is "great news".
It's like me saying I have some great news. My wife is having an affair. Now I can concentrate on painting the ceiling.
Ned, as much as I love you, you are an idiot.

I sort of agree with Ned, personally i'm happy were out.
Been Wembley (new) twice with Town, and although to see us win a cup there would be nice the fact were have them extra days off between games in the League appeals more to me.
Rather not be playing Barnet and Macclesfield next season than a day out on a grim Sunday in North London.

Look at me look at me look at me look at me look at me ohhhh this is all about you isnt it Ant Terrible post for all the reasons i could possibly think. Realistic chance of silverware, chance for fringe players to get in a tough competitive game. Why would you possibly think that Town loosing any game is great news? To quote Queeny " mouthy open, should be shut Ned"

can i just take the chance to remind one or two about the rules of this forum ( issue brought up in mods room) Posting threads that are misleading, controversial or just plain annoying are a totally different issue to that of name calling, or even worse bypassing the censor to abuse someone Ned may well ask for it but 2 wrongs don't make a right think on

With our performances against higher league opposition so far this season, I think we could have gone a long way in the JPT. Yes it has eased the fixture congestion in the coming weeks but the extra cup games would have been welcome further on in the season (unless we are still in the Carling Cup )

Obviously it's easier for a supporter who never goes to games, and doesn't understand our history with Walsall to claim that it's 'great news,' but I don't think it's completely wide of the mark to suggest being out of the JPT might be a good thing.
However, I'm beginning to get really tired of every thread on the messageboard revolving around Ned's attention seeking posts. I know there's wind-up merchants on every board, but it seems as if every thread at the moment is being taken off on a tangent by an ill-thought out 'look at me' post by Ned. Obviously people rise to it where perhaps they should know better, but when his posts are as as inflammatory as suggesting Town fans never create an atmosphere away, I can sympathise with them. It's a shame, because it's really beginning to put me, and a couple of others I know, off this board.

Erm, excuse me. I'm a "supporter who never goes to games" (though I prefer the term "fan") and frankly the way we look at it, without the perfomances on the pitch, we just look at it in black and white and frankly it's terrible news, we're out of a potentially winnable cup competition and clearly we were looking a decent cup side on paper so that's a bad thing. The fact it's a silly extra competition and additional costs to the hardcore aren't really considerations to us. Please don't tar us all with the same brush, we're not as idiotic as some (me included in the past) would have you believe. Ned's clearly his own special case.

While I am certainly not delighted about getting beat I can't say I am that disapointed either.
Its a competition that seriously needs a revamp if many supporters are going to care more about it. I'm not aware of any other countries that have anything simmilar and for many clubs nowadays getting to Wembley (when you can get there through the playoffs anyhow) isn't as great an incentive as it used to be.

The Samaritans' restraining order hasn't expired yet, has it? As long as the lads played for it, no shame in losing. It's not like it was 3 points lost.

This thread is half debateing the point and half moaning at Ned...
Im not sure its worded right, but there is some merit in the debate as to if it matters if were out or in this cup...
That said some older fans dont like a loss to Walsall... im a bit younger and dont consider them any more of a local rival that I would Birmingham or Villa..
