This is one for the girls! Would you prefer- A squad of Drop-dead-gorgeous lads- Or ones who look like that "Warthog" but who could deliver the goods and have us not only IN division 3- but contending for promotion by the end of next season? (I forget his name- he's not one of ours-they are ALL prettier than poor Warthog- but I bet he still gets attention from some ladies- it goes with the territory!) (I know we've got Sammy who combines "beauty" and talent- and a few VERY attractive ones- even little rough Luke is very appealing to women!) Personally- although it may not be quite such fun for us girlies to watch- I'd prefer the Warthog option. Handsome is as handsome does!! (Then when they're safely in Division 2- they could sign up one or two prettier ones!)

definately warthogs I don't care what they look like as long as they are great footballers! I'd rather watch a warthog that was playing well, than a pretty boy who wasn't playing well!

Town can never be accused of being a team of "pretty boys"! Gary Shaw was OK, but not worn well. Nigel Pearson was a bit more traditional rugged and has aged OK. Of the current bunch............nope, sorry. Always been one to watch the football rather than the legs etc... although I can appreciate some bonus on the "talent" front too. Having known a fair few footballers well, I swore I'd never go out with one (yes, they do make bets!). Ended up with one when "off territory" and didn't know he was.....worse as it was a local derby team and I took some stick. If it's any consolation.........Reading are pretty poor in the pretty boy stakes at the moment too! Wart Hogs rule! ;D

We all seem to be in agreement, don't we? Warthogs who are talented players are definetly preferable to pretty boys!! Let's hear it for the warthogs! Hey, Rob- Luke is NOT too short!! He's a good 'un- and always works hard. He stand good and tall in my estimation. He's a pint-sized wonder! My husband's short, so shut up, you!!! I'm only short myself- what would I want a big tall bloke for? Footballer's legs? Hmmm! I have a friend who notices their legs. I'm only interested in how fast they go! I like faces- coz they show character. Character is the most important of all. Even warthogs can be interesting. "Les Jolies Laids"- as they say in France- "the ugly pretty ones"- And you know what they say about men- the main thing is to be able to make a woman laugh! (Mind you- Cramby throwing a "bluey" can be funny- but it's not impressive, is it?!! )

I really, really don't like this topic. If I started a thread extolling the virtues of the swedish synchronised swimming team, I would be branded a sexist pig...... Only Joking

Warthogs definitely - the football is the most important thing - an exciting game with a good finish for the Shrews - nothing matters more. Pretty Boys surely belong to Pretty Boy Bands. And in any case as in all walks of life - personality is far more important.

Ahhhhh! Mossy's lovely!! I like that creased-up worried look he has!!! THE Warthog, by the way, is Lee Bowyer. I'm sorry, I can't remember what team he plays for- it's obviously not one I take any interest in. Who's the guy who said if he talked about swedish sycronised swimming? You've got a nerve you guys!! All these avators of JPs you're drooling over- boobies and bums and all that!!!! At least we're only discussing faces and legs- and saying talent and character are actually more important! ;D

you knew we'd all say the warthogs! a fan is a fan and we cant go lookin for potential dates in our team....unless of course they're offering! but still, more important than looks is the ability, and rest assured, that is the truth, i'm not just saying it because i know this will be read by boyfriend Steve_O.........honest! ;D(come on, who's gonna turn down our sammy!?!?)

I'm pretty sure players like Bavo and Mossy get called good-looking mostly due to the fact that they are professional footballers - I bet it's one hell of a chat up line

OK - time to start the ball rolling with suggestions for Wart Hogs United! All players that we'd be happy to have in the squad despite their lack of contribution to club revenue through image rights. Shall we start with Ian Dowie, Ray Parlour and Luke Chadwick

"Warthogs United"! I like it! I think probably we'd have been happy to have Maradonna in his glory days- yet they say he had short bow-legs and his face was never his fortune even then!! But I feel a bit guilty about starting this thread, now! After all- I've never rated my looks- on a scale of 1-10, I'd say I was a 5 when I was younger- and now I'm a 3 !!! I'd be hard-pushed to name one good feature!! All I've ever been able to achieve is a form of tawdry glamour. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder- and I lived and loved!! Loyal shrew- you are looking at Mossy, Bavo..etc.. through a man's eyes. You are not seeing them as women do. Women can see attractiveness even in "imperfection". It's a very hard quality to define. But then- people of your own sex are always more critical- I've had far more "stick" about my imperfections from girls, when I was younger, that I've ever had from men. The "standard" for women is so much more exact- especially these days. And we can't weigh talent and abilty- and success- against our imperfections. You've got to have- long legs, be about a size 8 to 10, with a tiny waist but huge boobs, and the main feature seems to be full lips and a small nose!! But then, Charles loves Camilla- and John Lennon left a very pretty Cynthia for Yoko Ono- so I don't know!!! (And Mr Wiggy was going out with a girl 5 years younger than me, and much prettier, before he met and married me!!)

Got you!!!!!! I fairness i never really had a problem with the welsh untill a few weeks ago during the England France 6 nations clash - evert pub in Cardiff city center was packed with fans cheering the french on - i could not stand the attitude of the cardiffians that night - slagging of England left right and center on sport - what makes it even more galling is that Wales as a nation has achived precisly zero in the world of sport of not. I simpley dont understand still why there is so much jeloscey of the English by the Welsh??? That said Gaz i still think your the exeption to the rule
