Working in Wem a few days this week. Do those navvys working by you really need that "Convoy Control" to protect the workforce or is that pure and simple bollox The twice I went through today the person whose turn it was seemed to be thoroughly enjoying his quad bike ride and seemed to be trying to break the track record rather than slow the traffic down Only jealous really, it looks damn good fun

harmerhill does not have quad bikes Keep your nose out you and get your homework done. Ghost Little tip go via Hadnall and turn off at Rock Hall for Wem. I went to the RSH today, right at the bottom of Pimhill via Bomere Heath Cutbury Montford Bridge and down the old A5 to Copthorne 20 mins. You can be 15mins waiting for those lights. So you can see how they hack me off

Watch the speed cams in Hadnall. Everyone knows they are by the church (fixed) but they were sat in the New Inn Car Park with one mounted on the bumper the other day

Whey hey ! Lainey, ask him If I can have a go It looks a right laugh, although for true comedy effect I would do wheelies! Yes, see you in Solihull tomorrow, my agenda says 40 minutes only for lunch Don't they know I'm allergic to small portions

True, that is what you posted HH, and that is the way I went in the end (confusion was Rock Hall, as I did not know where that was I just took the first one past Hadnall). Had to laugh when I ended up where I had just come from, as it must have been a complete circle but never seemed like it. I still got to Wem a lot quicker Cheers

Elaine (wakemaner) has promised to get me a go on them before the work finishes, just plotting with Sam and Dave the Shirt how we could turn that into a Reeves and Mortimer sketch Scenario

The safety at roadworks manual states that where a sufficient safety zone cannot be positioned around a working space, then the traffic must be reduced to below 10mph and a safe system of work applied, which has to be agreed, prior to commmencement with the local authority.
Quad bikes can keep the traffic going past the works area below 10mph.
Am I an anorak, or what!! ;D

If that was the case somersetshrew fine But the father and son combo doing it race each other tring to do personal best times leaving the convoy of traffic in their dust. BIZZARE !! 9/10 for Anorackness though! Just waiting for someone to start a thread on the most anoracky piece of work legislation they have. Knowing what gpricey does, my moneys on him

Hmmm, well hardly legislation, but our engineering manager told one of our engineers (the pen-pushing variety, not the hands-on type like us spanner-monkeys), that he would need "basic tool training" before he could requisition a screwdriver. We have no such course, never have, and never will!!!
