Encouraged by winning a Radio Shropshire teapot! (Yes- it's arrived- and it is quite cute. It's in the shape of an old radio) - I requested "The only way is up"- which is the "signature" on my posts. I was in Hinstock on Friday- and forgot to listen, but I have been informed that it was played. It was for our team, of course! See- it worked, we're in the play-offs!! ;D (I've got that apres holiday feeling- don't want to go to bed coz Monday morning looms!)

I heard it Wiggy It was played just after the 3pm news but you got a bit of a fanfare as the Presenter said just before the news "the next record is espescially for Pauline Griffiths" You even had a pop at "pie eaters" in your e-mail/text didn't you ;D

Oh, yes! Pie-eaters are a prime target of mine! The main thing I want to know is- did he (Chris Ashley, I presume- give our team a mention? I hope he did- coz that was what it was all about. That was the whole point of it, really- choosing "The only way is up!" for our lads. The message is in the title, innit? (All these little things help, you see- we're in the play-offs!! )

Yes Chris gave em a good mention, and wished them luck himself Strange thing was, I was going up the M6 and past the junction for Wigan Pier when it came on. I was able to still pick up Radio Shropshire until 5 miles out of Preston. Was that a freak weather condition thing as I can't remember the signal lasting that long before

'Twas meant to be then!! I'm trying to think where we are in relation to the sign for Wigan Pier. We live in Billinge- it's a village between St Helens & Wigan. You can see Billinge Hill on the left going towards Preston. Strange really- because I notice that the Wrekin (Which was more-or-less where I was born!) is 407m above sea level. The highest place around here is about 168m- and yet it seems high because the rest of the land around is so low. I can get Radio Shropshire fine in our house- and on the East Lancs road when I go to Newton-le-Willows in the morning. But it's hopeless in Liverpool. I have to listen to Extra Time half on my way home from work- and then at home! I remember straining my ears to here who's scored at the Telford match- then finding out, to my horror- that it was Telford!
