I treated my wife and Kids to a meal at The Bull @ Roddington tonight. If you like an hefty meal at a reasonable price.....This is the place to go!! I ordered a Quasimodo (24oz Rump) with the usual chips mushrooms and side salad. Asked for medium rare and it was spot on My second youngest son had the same. My eldest had a Superman Mixed grill which entailed Gammon, Sausage, Liver, Steak, Kidney, Black Pudding. egg and Onion Rings. The wife had 16oz Tee-Bone with New potatoes and veg. The lot come to £42......Absolute Bargain. Give it a go, but its not not for the faint hearted Oh i forgot to say, The Old Speckled Hen was brilliant ( thats a beer for the uneducated and not more food)

Only place I have EVER eaten and Not been able to clear my plate. Had a superman mixed grill, it was huge and very tasty too. PS Anyone who knows me will tell you that the reason Im so fat isnt down to hormones, its psychological, I see food as a challenge and I always win. ;D Also recommend the Lea Cross Inn at errr, well Lea Cross actually. Excellent steaks.

hhhmmm food BillBo's description reminded me of that episode of the Simpsons, luckily without the fatality. Glad you ordered a side salad to keep it healthy ;D

Love the place Billbo! Its always the same whenever you go. Cooked how you want, piping hot (no mean feat with a mixed grill), with great service and child friendly. On a really busy Friday night they gave a table for 4 over to just me and the missus so the little one in her car seat was not on the floor. And the time before that they undercharged me by £20 (even when I questioned if the sum was right) I forgot to ask Dave, did you finish the Quasimodo? Cause even a fat barsteward like me failed the last time I went. You may not be surprised to hear that Yogi who plays darts in the Pontesbury league on a Friday once attempted a double mixed grill with a Quasimodo AS WELL! Apparently he *nearly* finished the lot! Just don't expect to eat in a hurry at a weekend.........mind you the same guy owns the Tayleur Arms just down the road so that may be just as good.

I left a small amount of steak and quite a few chips. When the waiter came around to clean up the plates I chucked the steak I hadn't eaten on her plate and said" She couldn't manage it and she wants a doggy bag" She was at the Loo at the time So its steak for breakfast with a nice fried egg Mmmmm
