McIntyre? No thanks.
He is finished here I'm afraid.

Just think Macca will be kept for twleve months, GT has said several times how good a pro he is, and he offers cover for several positions.

If we could get Macallister back to the start of this season form, consitintly, and not injured, we might not need a CM...

Good point, and hopefully he will be back to his best - I would still like a centre mid though, so we have mcAllister, Wroe, McIntyre and someone else, as those three are all quite deep lying midfielders.

I thought Chris Neal was under contract for next year? I believe that is correct.

I believe McIntyre should be offered a new contract because he's the only midfielder who provIdes physical presence to the team. I think we really need to beef up Central midfield for next season so two strong midfields with a bit of class are top of my wish list preferably ones who can take corners and free kicks.

Depends on value for money. If KM is on a first team player's wage, which I suspect he is, then it's time to say thanks but goodbye. If he would accept a lower wage then there's an argument for keeping him.

I expect the decision on whether or not to retain McIntyre will depend on how much change GT wants to make in the central midfield area. If he thinks we need two new players, he'll likely be released, but if he retains McIntyre it leave us with only really room for one more.

I agree we need more in midfield but we shouldn't offer Mcintyre anything. He's a hard working player but for me is at best a squad player. He may have a physical presence but he finds it difficult to pass a ball to a team mate and often ends up running round like a headless chicken. There will be better and younger players available.

I thought Chris Neal was under contract for next year? I believe that is correct. That is correct - my mistake. On McIntyre I would only offer him 12 months on a reduced rate, and would see him as a squad payer. In a recent interview with JT and TB on Shrews Player they both indicated that Macca had given them lots of help and advice. We don't have many older experienced characters - he is one. I don't think we need radical changes. Just: Left back to replace Sadler Squad player defender to replace Lomax, Hooman, Canavan, D.Taylor, Centre Mid to replace Disley and Davis Winger to replace Leslie Striker to replace Robinson/Van den Broek If we've got the same budget this should be achievable

To be honest I'd dump Elder and Neal depending if we can agree a decent early settlement fee with the pair.

I can't see Raven being offered a new deal. There must be better right backs out there.
If Disley does leave he will be a good signing to another club at this level.
The big question is what does Turner think about Elder, and none of us can answer that.
I do wonder whether a Holt style signing this summer up front would really set this team up nicely.
I will say it in hushed tones, and I am not sure how old he is now, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ellison play for us not against us for once.

I'd go for Reid from Macclesfield if he is available as a fullback

Great shout Dave, hes always impressive vs us and pretty attacking...
I do think Grandison is being line up as the long term option at RB though should Raven not be retained...

Oh and this season has proved we are in desperate need of a back up center back... who only plays center back...

Players paid off- Neal, Mc.Allister
Players sold- Harrold, J.Taylor
Lots of new arrivals coming into the club. Quality players already lined up.

I'm amazed people would dump Raven? He's by far the best right back we've had this season by a mile.
He's had some fitness issues, but he was on the bench on saturday, and it might be that he's just been a bit unlucky or wasn't full over a previous knock. But Raven has been really really good when he's played and offered massive balance to our team

ive heard a rumour that watford are releasing a couple of their players out on loan including a un-named player at shrewsbury, i think thats pretty obvious as we only have one loanee from watford

I've watched every team this season and in my opinion when Dave Raven has been on the pitch he has been the best right back in the league. I would give him another year for definate but try and bring someone like Dean Winnard or Lee Beevers in who can cover his and most of the defensive positions.
I would release; Robinson, Disley, Hooman, Lomax and McIntyre.
I would keep; Jon and Danny Taylor, Raven and Leslie
I would buy; A defensive cover, a left back, 2 centre mids and a striker.
Also i think we need to leave enough room in the squad for some loan players, maybe a keeper on loan or a winger

If we can get him back to full fitness he'll again be an asset next season and will make the RB berth his own.

McIntyre would be good as reserve player who can be brought on to tighten up the midfield once a game is in a winning position to see the game out. I also would suggest maybe he could have a player/coach conract because he seems to be getting on a bit and seeing how he is at coaching wouldn't be a bad decision for 12 months? Anyone agree?

I'd snap your arm off at a fully fit and injury free Raven!

If I was GT I would keep McIntyre for another year as I get the impression that he is quite a good influence in the dressing room.
Players to be offered contracts: Raven, McIntyre, J.Taylor, D. Taylor
If we're looking for a goal scoring Midfielder then maybe Hamza Bencherif from Macclesfield would be a good signing. He got 11 goals this season and is only 23 years old.
