'The match was marred by a touchline fracas which saw Milan's combative midfielder Gennaro Gattuso appear to Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan after the final whistle.
Gattuso had already been in an altercation with Jordan, seemingly shoving him in the face close to the Spurs dug-out when they clashed during the game and the Italian continued his battle after the match.
The result would not have helped the combustible Italian's temper, in addition to the AC Milan captain picking up a yellow card which rules him out of the return leg, as his side were made to look second best for most of the game at a rain-soaked San Siro.
Absaloute madness from this moron tonight, he's an embarresment to the sport.

I think the word 'head-butt' was missing from the first paragraph! Absolutely brilliant display from Spurs who showed real backbone and frustrated the Italians all night. Gattuso has always been a nasty piece of work but he's outdone himself tonight! Flamini should be charged with assault for the two footed 'tackle' that's left Corluka on crutches. Given ourselves a great chance of getting through to the next round now

Apparently Jordan has a few teeth missing Didnt even flinch when the head but went in. Gatusso should have been sent off before that anyway. Geat performance and result by Spurs.

I liked what Souness said (for once) Something like Gattusso evidently does not know who Joe Jordan is. If it wasn't on a football pitch Gattusso wouldn't last 5 minutes. I love the way Gattusso s him, and Jordan just keeps staring at him. Unbelievable stuff: Gattusso should be in deep do do for that.

Given ourselves a great chance of getting through to the next round now Totally agree! Ironic that it was deemed illegal by the ref for Crouch to jump, yet a 2 footed lunge by flamini that puts corluka onto a stretcher is only a yellow, and when he's being tended to by physios to see if his leg is broken, flamini and the rest of the milan players protest about that corluka could be rolled off the pitch. meanwhile flamini waves to the crowd immediately after to try and get them going rather than check on his victim. disgusting. apart from that, fantastic display from Spurs. Sandro and Palacios were amazingly fantastic today (i was shocked after previous games), and amazingly Woodgate came on as Corluka's replacement (just as well he rejected that loan move to Wolves!) Fantastic night, capped off by a brilliant set of results for Town!

That Flamini challenge was sickening. How the hell the ref only gave a yellow is beyond me. I guess it can't be reviewed either because a yellow was given?

You'd think that might be the case, if it were not for the fact that Joe Jordan is Scottish and used to play for AC Milan. Gattuso is actually captain of AC Milan and used to play for Rangers and is (i think) married to a Scot!

Must admit it was wasted on Jordan. Should have nutted Harry and improved his looks.
Great result for Spurs, hope they finish the job at home.

If Jordan had slipped his teeth in his pocket Gattuso would have been done for.
Joe Jordan was a good footballer in his day.

Joe Jordan was a good footballer in his day. I've never forgiven Joe Jordan for the 1977 World Cup qualifier against Wales (at Anfield). He handled the ball in the Welsh penalty area - the ref thought that it was a Welsh hand and awarded Scotland a penalty from which they scored. Scotland qualified for the finals at Wales' expense. I had a ticket for that game, but had dislocated my collar bone the previous weekend playing rugby and decided that it wouldn't be a good idea standing ina packed Kop with my arm in a sling! Shocking behaviour from Gattuso on several occasions however - he deserves whatever is coming to him.

Can't say I have ever willed on an English side in Europe like that before, was really willing on Spurs to win. Really did not like the way Milan went about things last night, rum the lot of 'em...
Although the booking itself did look a little soft (I don't think he would have been booked for that had he not been throwing himself about previous) Gattuso did deserve at least a yellow for his antics. A good thing he is not available for the next match too, way too much would have been made about him coming to England. Spurs and their supporters can concentrate on the game now rather than looking forward to welcoming Gattuso...
Great result for Spurs. Superb result for Shalke in the other game too, didn't see that coming...

It's not the first time blum Its getting pathetic Glad to see UEFA are taking "investigating", though I dare say had this been Rooney, or Terry, UEFA would already have suspended the player indefinetly and chucked the club out of the competition...

I beleive gattuso is married to a native Glaswegian, and he has expressed an interest in coming back to Rangers at some point - he said he loved it there.
i think he is a great player - utter madman, but still i think most teams would love to have a player like that
