Yep, going John along with Ben.......only just over 75minutes from here for us and with new car collected tomorrow I'm looking forward to it though I fear it may well be brass monkey weather.

Bought cheap train tickets for this game 6 weeks ago so committed to going now, am confident that they would overcome any overnight frosts as they had pitch covers with hot air blowers underneath to get their previous home game on, however its the heavy snow currently forecasted for Saturday I'm worried about........

Snowing in Shrewsbury today, and thats only the start of snow showers for all the uk throuhg to mid next week... Oxford has got to get lucky and
1) avoid the heaviest showers - Problem its in the Bulls Eye of the most snow at the moment 2) Keep the pitch covered and hope its does not feeze to bad Problem VERY low overnight temps on Friday 3) hope its warm enough to thaw out during saturday morning - Problem its not forcast to be higher than -1 all day in Oxford on Saturday, its cant thaw out at that temp surely?
Add to that the traffic chaos on Saturday (pre Crimbo shopping/tavle madness + Snow) and it could be an intresting day for some on Saturday...
Hope you all get lucky if you go.

I think Oxford wil try their absolute best to get the game on as their game at Lincoln was called off last weekend, but if the snow is going to fall as heavy as the weathermen reckon then you would surely think its a no go, however the Salop players (and many fans) also thought the same before a certain new year's day against a team in tangerine quite a few years back

Going Glad to see Oxford have the covers on but the latest predictions are much worse than yesterday with tomorrow not expecting to see temperatures higher than -2. Fingers crossed!

Yes, I'll be going.
The other week there home match was on out of only 2 in league 2 and conditions should not be worse I think. Oxford seem confident and if there's no pitch inspection planned on the day then I'll definitely travel

If they have thecovers on then snow will act as slight insulation, so if they managed to get covers on prior to cold snap it will be a case of snow removal, hopefully will be oin, as on Hoiday after this and not back until 4th Jan.
here is hoping the lincoln game will be off though!!

Does anyone know if you can pay on the day? They run a similar system to us whereas you can buy a ticket on the day before you go in, but you have to pay £2 more than you would if you bought your ticket before the day of the match.

Evening gentlemen
Pitch should be ok, it's more likely to be the surrounding area and access that'll stop the game, if anything.
It's already -3 at my mothers (14 miles away).
Safe (pointless) journey

Tomorrow's forecast for Oxford changed yet again to just a 'cloudy day' now with a maximum temperature of 0 degrees celsius in the afternoon, with OUFC seemingly confident of their pitch being ok for tomorrow all being well we will be watching a football match tomorrow afternoon unless the Health & Safety brigade have their say........
