Is he in it? I just thought he paid for it.
Jesus is all animatronics when the violence starts anyway......

I've seen it.
Very powerful film. It's also one of the only 18 rated films I've seen that actually warranted it's certifiacate, very graphic.
Still not sure if the film was released to try and encourage more people to follow christianity or not.

If you view it purely as a film, it's a good film. Very graphic and hard hitting.

Phenomenal film - not for the queezy unless you want to see what Easter is all about. I've got a strong stomach for gore, but this tested it to the limits. It just goes to show how benign all the clinically clean crosses are that you find around people's necks - they give no impression of what a torture instrument this was. Some of the practicalities struck me. After you've nailed through someone's hand how do you make sure the hand doesn't come off? turn the cross over roughly (Jesus face downwards) and hammer the ends of the nails 90 degrees. It makes sense logically and just increases the horror of the whole thing when you see it. If this description gives the slightest twinge, then increase the horror factor 100 times - you then have some idea abnout the film. Seeing it on Easter Saturday just made it particularly poignent.

I saw it last week and it is a disgustingly brutal film
It really is just pure violence
at the end there was just silence in the cinema, no-one spoke, you couldn't fail but be moved by the brutality of it
I know everyone will have different opinions ont he meaning of it, but as a film it stands by itself and is well worth watching
it has also had a massive following in the middle east / arab states where Jesus is revered as a prophet, so it is not just a Christian thing either, as the historical figure of Jesus exists in Islam and Hinduism too

This may be based on archaeological finds, but can't remember.

yes, they did put it through the wrist, according to Roman History anyway
it was a barbaric way to kill someone
that is one reason i just despair at the theory Jesus just fainted and woke up three days later. He really wasn't in a state to faint and wake up again. The red blood and plasma had seperated when they stabbed his side, that means you are as dead as as dead can be

don't approve of it. Glosses over serious issues and is just glorified violence. How people can say its a good advert for Christianity I dont understand ![???](//storage.proboards.com/1258782/images/ZEjvtQKOmLArVPumuTsh.png)
