I'm having a few problems with Internet Explorer.
As well as it occasionally freezing up when I go to Histroy, I'm also having trouble loading pages when I type in the web address in the address bar (as opposed to just using hyperlinks). Any solutions?
Also, my computer is dialling up to the internet without prompting, when no programs are open. Any ideas why this may be?
Grateful for any help.

I'm sure Kickin's going to correct me but I'll give it a go I would uninstall Internet Explorer and then reinstall it as it's sounds like a missing link that's err gone missing. Other than that try to delete your 'temoprary internet files' and cookies but I'll be surprised if that helps Maybe a system defragmentation would help as well. As for the computer dialling up, well it could be a number of things but download spybot (courtesy of Kickin) just to emliminate anything dodgy www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

You can't uninstall internet explorer, as its integrated into the operating system
The fact that the PC tries to connect to the internet on its own indicates to me that some spyware, or advertising software is trying to connect for you.
I suggest you get a copy of ad-aware, and run that, get rid of some crap that is clogging up your system.
The defrag idea is a good one too.

Thanks for advice folks.
Spybot and the AVG virus checker threw up some stuff and things are running smoothly again now.
