Anyone know the players who are out of contract in the summer?
Out of the current squad which players would you get rid of for next seas? Much will depend on which division we are in at the start of next season but I'm sure there will be players who we will want to stay whatever and those who people would like to see go.

As you say Ant alot will depend on which league we are in, but I would say Colin Cramb is a dead cert to leave.

Should be interesting to see if anyone wants to come to Shrewsbury, whether it be in the 3rd (fingers x'd) or conference, as many of the players who came to Shrewsbury said JQ sold the club to them, if JQ leaves or is replaced will they want to stay?

I'm sure there will be players who want to come to shrewsbury but will JQ be allowed to sign anybody without trimming wage bill first.O'K i'm pretty sure Rioch, dunbavin, drysdale and possibly cramby and even lowey(not been offered new deal yet) will be gone but still got probably biggest squad and wage bill in conference and league funding stops end of this season

Everything will depend on whether JQ stays or not. If he stays then he will get rid of everyone he doesn't like that he can. If he goes, will a new person bring in new players, could we afford this, can we go through another year of trial and error?

i know one of our better ones is on £70,000 a year but i'd just like to know how that compares to the rest of the squad. i did hear a rumour that tns pay more than town but i doubt it

Whatttttt? please tell me your taking the p%$ss. We're paying over £2 million a year in wages. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if our highest earners are on that, or slightly more.

With wages that high it proves Quinn has got together a 3rd division squad to get us out of The Conference. Will it work? time will tell

Sorry to keep bringing this back to the front page but, to me all it proves is that some of our team are on more than they really deserve. Does anyone honestly think that there is someone in our team whose performances warrant a £70.000 wage?
I find it staggereing, I expected perhaps half that for our top players. I would guess that we are talking here about either cramb, o connor or derby. Much as im impressed by derbys fight and passion, he doesnt warrant 70k, as for cramb and o connor, I wouldnt pay them in peanuts.

I'd say it's more to do with the overall supply and demand.
If the manager wants to go out and get a player he wants and other clubs want him he is going to have to pay more in terms of wages to attract that player to the club.
Evidently in recent seasons wages have become inflated seriously effecting the finances of the game - I'd wager that the majority of clubs who have faced financial hardship in recent seasons have done so due to paying a wage bill much higher than their revenue streams.
Sadly though I think it will take an overhaul of the whole football system to change this because while all opposition clubs are paying the going rate, clubs like ours are unlikely to change their view point.

Yeh your right, but isnt this why we have a youth policy, so we can bring in our own players rather than pay other clubs to do it for us. The young lad we ve just sold to man u, he must have been a great prospect, why let him go? Surely it would make sence to hold onto him for a few years, get some service out of him then sell him on, utd could afford to go to real madrid and plunder there youth team. £70.000 just seems an awfull lot for what we are being served up when we have tallent we are selling on to others

We had no way of stopping Evans going to United - remember the Jermaine Pennant case a few years ago?

TBH, not really, but if what I think your saying, basically people can charge us what the hell they like, due to supply and demand ( horrible tory phrase ), and every time we get a bit of tallent through the youth team, they can bog off for a pittance ( relatively speaking) to a premiership team and there is jack anyone can do about it.
Well that seems very fair.

Tory phrase? Economic phrase!
The case with Evans is that he's not under contract with us and isn't allowed to be either because he's too young. This wouldn't be the case with players like Edwards who are on a professional contract.
The point about the youth system is to help finance the club - bring players through, then eventually sell them or play them in the first team.
However we're never in a million years going to get more than a few players (at the very most) from the youth team breaking into the first team in any one season.

Ant - do you know the exact wage biull for the club? £2 million would be £38461.53 per week, that seems a staggering figure, just how many members of staff do we have?
