When we get the New Meadow, is there any chance that 1 stand behind the goal would be persuaded to become terracing, because I've spoke to lots of people who think that all seating would dent the atmosphere at Shrewsbury games.

If this has come up before, anyone care to venture down one of the answers expressed?

The cost for terracing is more than seats. Its cost. Its seats. Please say no more else Dunc will come round your house and sort you out ;D

I think the way that the fans have backed the club this season, they deserve to have a little more spent on the ground so that they can have the choice. There was no height to the terracing today yet most fans stood even though it was only a pound dearer to sit. Some naughty boys sneaked in at half-time whilst the steward wasnt looking,im sure they all put pound in the collection.

I walked around the back of the away 'terrace' before the game to find the nearest chippy and it looked extremely easy to climb over the small(ish) concrete wall, was tempted to try it myself The Farnborough fans were friendly enough but I did not like their ground at all, it seemed to lack a soul, the area around the ground didnt help it either, social club was quite good though.

Some of the money for the new meadow will come from the footbalkl trust - they will only provide money for seated stands.
It is also more expensive to build a terrace than a stand.

Halifax re-developed their ground alongside the rugby league side who were playing at the Shay alongside them. That rugby league team have now gone bust which means they can not finish their main stand. It's ok if you have someone come in and say here's X million to spend on a football ground. If you're looking for grants from other sources - you have to follow the rules.
Oh and I was one of the B&A boys who went in the stand - did I give them a quid? Did I fcuk ;D

Go to Halifax and its a cracking case for terracing being madepart of the ground.
Go to Rochdale, and its a cracking case for all seaters.
Swings and roundabouts.
I'm not bothered about terracing but am very interested / concerned about ground design.

I didn't think they actually charged you to sit in the family stand (as opposed the main stand) however, I've never used it when it has be used for away fans (obvsiously).
The area the ground is in is very delapidated(sp?) and needs some serious investment, unfortunately we don't have the money to do such things at the moment despite the council being keen for us to improve the facilities in the area.
If we both still in the same division next year you'll get to see our new shiney terrace, however, it's at the home end so you'll be stuck with the conference's worst away terrace.
It may not be a great ground but it's our ground and with the problems many other clubs go through (such as Margate) I'm happy we've got somewhere to play!

Fortunately The Sainsbury Stadium Scam will not go through. The Town will still be at the Meadow long after The Sham Board have been ousted. So don't worry we can still stand on the terraces.

Because the best blocking tactics haven't needed to be released yet.

No. A loyal fan not prepared to be hoodwinked by The Scammers. I have noticed that many of The Lemmings have recently begun to question the Sainsbury Stadium plans at last.

Have you actually been to the club and had a chat about how things are going how much money are people putting into the club etc?
By the sounds of things you havent!

You should concern yourself with what people are taking out. They have already orchestrated the worst period in the club's history. They can rob us of our 'jewel' and walk away. Then how do we climb out of The Pontins @ Meole? On the strength of yesterday's 1st half performance we don't even need 50 seats for the future! (I do of course accept that they scored 3 in the 2nd half....but unfortunately I did not see much of that half....but did see their goal!!).

captainglassback - Have you sent a letter into the board asking these questions? Just wondering if you had done and had no response?
