Anything less than 1000 would be embarrasing in my opinion.

Anything less than 1000 would be embarrasing in my opinion. Well I hope your in the minority our kid. Not for me that and I hope to a fair few more too. Can't say I care too much how many Town fans make the trip as long as those who do see a decent performance and come back with a point or three... I do find it a tad strange the importance supporters put on the number of fans travelling, just don't understand it at all...

But a local derby, top of the league, playing decent football, that should see us comfortably taking 1,000 in my opinion. Of course numbers dont mean anything, but it is always nice to see plenty of fans there.

Anything less than 1000 would be embarrasing in my opinion. No, it wouldn't. People have work. We something like 600 there last season, and that was on a saturday. Yeah, it was a meaningless game and we were under a caretaker manager, but still. I won't be going, due to the fact it's a midweek game. I would've gone if it was on a weekend. I doubt many exiles will be going - obviously not including the ones who live in the Staffs and Shrops area. I expect we'll take around 8-900 which, IMO, would be a good following. It's not as if it's a decisive game.

Anything less than 1000 would be embarrasing in my opinion. So if we take less than 1000, are you going to sit there with a red face and squirm in your seat? Of course you wont, don't worry about it and make enough noise for 2000.

Stoke wasn't even a new ground, and we knew there was potential we could be playing their reserves. Shame you aren't going Ned, was looking forward to your tales of you taking on the Vale mobs and winning again, just like last season.

Anything less than 1000 would be embarrasing in my opinion. It would be poor, I dont think anyone could deny it I too saw the figure of 300 and was disapointed/amazed but Im hoping its just a lot of people havent got round to getting tickets. Im popping to get 6 tomorrow. Id like to think we could get up the 1500 mark but I think around 1,000 to 1200 is more realistic. Whilst it is a local game and a top of the table clash, its still very early days. And whilst Port Vale isnt a million miles to get to, its not exactly a nice route, especially in rush hour traffic. Sam, I think the Stoke comparison is a poor one though. I appreciate that its a similar distance and on a Tuesday night but this was an opportunity to play a Premiership side and for a fraction of what you would normally pay.

Anything less than 1000 would be embarrasing in my opinion. I agree. Yeh it doesn't really matter, the result and the way we play does, however there is no doubt we would give Vale stick if it was the other way round with them looking as though a poor following of under a 1000 may be going, and they'd be quick to point out our un supported team I'm sure. With our current form and the amount we to stoke, we should be looking at 1000+, so to hear that only 300ish have got tickets so far is a bit odd, maybe all will buy them in a hurry on monday and tuesday!

800/900 looking realistic figure, having to play midweek because of Vales hooligan problem and having to have a large police presence ruins what would be a great Saturday trip IMO.

Lets remember that that information would have been given to the Shropshire Star at yesterday lunchtime at the latest to be in the press so thats just under a week away until the game.
Plenty of time for people to get their tickets

I'd be surprised if we less than a 1,000 given our form and that of Vale's.
Positive results for both sides this weekend will add a some more on the gate and that should make a good atmosphere.
Whilst not a season breaker or maker by any means of the imagination a positive result will be a good confidence boost that we can go to our main rivals and get points.

has everyone forgotten that we have a long trip down south on saturday? It is asking alot of supporters wallets who intend to make BOTH the wycombe and port vale games. Preference would go to Vale Park over Addams park given the choice I am sure

unfortunately this fixture has proven to be a no goer to many of the everyday genuine supporter as the potential for trouble regardless of the result come the final whistle

Presumably tuesday will still attract the usual morons who spend most there time posturing, staring at the opposition supporters and yelling mindless abuse.

I'd be interested if you could find a quote. I just think the fixture will be too much hassle for people. Oh, and by the way Ned, at least spell a player's name correctly if you are to use them in your username. I can't, as it has to be an admin/mod who changes it.

I didn't know you couldn't buy tickets on the door.
And plenty of people are put off by the fact the Vale crowd are as rough as they get in this division.
Does anyone remember the police vans through Belle Vue and the Vale fans hassling the locals two years ago. Nothing was made of it in the press but is scared the heck out of my grandparents in law who live up there, to have a couple of hundred burberry clad knuckledraggers trotting down belle vue road shouting obscenities at passers by.
