Hello all, Port Vale fan here in peace! Just wondering how many you think you'll be bringing to Vale park next Tuesday? EVERY chance of a 8,000 + gate if we both win at the weekend I recon. This HAS to be league 2's match of the season, us as favourites to win the leauge and you a close second..... I'm hoping a win v Accy on Saturday will put us top, you've a tough on at Wycombe! 180 minutes v us aside, all the best and you are WLECOME to a second spot finish this year!

crikey - a Vale fan in peace? That would be nice on Tuesday night flower. See if you can pass this around the other 7000 of you Happy for both of us to go up. Us as champs and you through the heart-attack penalty shoot out route at Wembley. No offence.

We wont bring that many i dont suppose, mainly due to the fact its a Tuesday night. There must be 500-600 Town fans who cant get time off work etc but would have gone if it was a Saturday, plus quite a few didnt go to the game last season in fear of trouble, its not exactly a great family day out.
Iv booked the afternoon off work but haven't sorted any tickets or travel yet.
Happily take 4 points from the next 2, i think we can win at Wycombe and id take a draw on Tuesday if we do win Saturday.

Those Stoke fan bookies Bet 365 VERY kindly gave me a MASSIVE 16/1 on us winning the thing, [now as low as 5/1], don't understand WHY we have such a bad reputation, [Playing Stoke aside that is], we 2,600 to Macc on saturday and not a HINT of trouble....

That big fat bald bloke really p**ses me off. What a pathetic sad excuse for a human being he really is. He would probably have a heart attack if he had to throw a punch.

Match of the season? So far perhaps but there is plenty of football yet to be played. Should be a decent occasion with two decent, in form sides and hopefully a decent atmosphere but win, lose or draw...nothing is going to decided next Tuesday night. I’m certainly not putting that much importance on this match…

Don't understand why people use Tuesday night as an excuse not to go.
If they genuinely can't get the time off work, fair enough, but I have heard many people saying that they don't want to go because it is a Tuesday.
Me, I can't ****ing wait, have to live with the pikey Vale fans at uni, so any game against them is great fun.

Not letting the fact that its a Tuesday night game stop me from going to this one, but I finish work at 2pm so that will give me plenty of time to go home, get changed and washed and drive up to meet my Dad in Telford and then continue the rest of the journey in his car, if you finish at 5.30-6pm, I can imagine it would be a bit of a rush and I can understand why people wouldnt want the hassle.

Three things for me:
1. Finishing work in the 5.30 - 6pm period, so it's a big rush to get to 2. I play football on a tuesday night and therefore tuesday night games mean my weekly football playing has to be given up 3. By the time you actually get back home after it's pretty much bed time as its work the next day
Whereas on saturdays none of those would be factors

Finishing work in Worcester at 16.00, back home to Ledbury to collect Ben and get cleaned up and then straight back out and up the motorway to the game, picking Eric The Fish en route at Droitwich, looking forward to this one!!

ALL I can say is they NEVER been to a Stoke/Vale match!...... We didn't play each other for years then came the last minute winner here when Richards fouled the keeper and Vale fans ran on the pitch and it's been downhill since. The police treat it as high profile, the usual idiots get attracted (on both sides I expect) and things escalate Will be there though

Night games - seem to attract better atmosphere in my opinion. I'm really looking forward to this and will be making the shortish journey from Brum with one or two others on Tuesday night. COYB

Looking forward to visiting the 'Wembley of the north' once again. First time was v Southampton in the league cup, with Bernie Slaven scoring the winner I think.We(3 teens) feared the worst when people realised we weren't locals when we opened our mouths, yet we were treated really well (why have you come to watch us?!! was the usual question).
Is there a rivalry of sorts growing between our clubs? Possibly. We were never often in the same div in the past, but with the loss of Chester and Wrexham for us,it's a welcome 'big game'.
Added to that,on the Vale side, there's the fact that the other oatcake munchers are, ahem,a few divisions higher than Vale at the moment. So it might be welcome from their side too.

Night games certainly do tend to generate a better atmosphere and im looking forward to it.
Got my ticket Monday so just fingers crossed for a good run down to Vale post a meeting in Bradford!
Our passing game against vales more physical direct approach will be interesting as will me not trying to laugh if i see "Hold the line" fat chap doing his thing , hilarious and quite sad really!!.
Hope we take around a thousand.

I won't be going, by the way. The only midweek game I go to will probably be Hereford at home. I expect there'll be trouble, but there will probably be more police than last season. Good decision to put it on a tuesday night, IMO, because that'll reduce time that people can be at the pub for

Plus if people want to drink they will no matter what time kick off is.

On a saturday, the pubs normally open at 9am so they'll get longer..
